    Convenient and friendly hotel

Lyra Hotel may not be used much by international travelers in St Petersburg. It is however, a short walk away from a subway station and trains that take you straight downdown in less than 10 minutes. The hotel is clean and staff is friendly, although not all speak English (particularly in the restaurant). Reception employees spoke English though and were very helpful with trip planning, booking taxis, etc. Rooms without thrills but clean and quiet.

    Not bad

We have been to differenet hotels and this one somehow doesn't stand out. First impressions were quite disappointing - when we arrived, they had forgotten to put an extra bed for our child and for the child of the family next door. The chambermaids were grumpy, didn't even bother to say hello, let alone smile. Even the receptionists (except for Mariya and I think Tatyana) were a bit unfriendly. Although we all speak Russian pretty well, at first I tried speaking English to them but didn't get a response, so I switched to Russian, not that it helped a lot. The location was near a Metro station (Obvodniy kanal) but not near the centre, the vicinity was a bit rough next to a coach station, but we felt safe. The room was not so spacious when they added the extra bed, it was fairly good for 2 and not for 3. Surprisingly, there was central heating and it was really really warm. Breakfast was the same every day, so by the end of the week we were pretty tired and I personally could hardly eat it. The cofee was good. We didn't try the restaurant because the prices seemed exorbitant compared to the Ligov shopping centre near the Metro station. What is more, there were weddings almost every evening, but the good thing was that we didn't hear anything, being on the 6th floor. All in all, it was a good stay, the city is amazing and worth seeing.

    Good for it's money

We spend 10 nights. The room was ok, and clean. Cleand up every day. We have 'nt got controll to the heat in thee bathroom, the room window must always open. :) The hotel is not in the town centre, but Metro station (line 5) is close (5 mins). Staff was very helpful and nice. Breakfast is ok, but every day the same.

The hotel is best suited for business use. It is behind the coach (Bus) service for long distance travel. About 5 min walk to underground and about Three stops to the main city centre (One change over). Affordable and decent. Includes breakfast however breakfast in all of Russia Seems poor. Travel, Food and Taxi (Yandax app) in Russia is extremely cheap making it an affordable place to visit. Stayed in a junior suite, with lighting and space comfortable for a couple
