  Great to be back!

  I had not stayed here for a few years, and it was a real pleasure to come back. I particularly liked the room I had this time, number 1, which looked out over fields at the rear of the property and was therefore lovely and quiet. The bathroom was very spacious and had both a bath and a separate shower, which was nice. The breakfast was as good as ever, featuring delicious locally-produced bacon and sausage. Breakfast was served in the cosy bar area, as there were very few guests when I was there. The owners, Sarah and David, were always very friendly and helpful. All in all I very much enjoyed my stay.

  A very homely hotel, comfortable and welcoming

  From booking to arrival, I could not have been made feel more welcome. The room was comfortable, and the shower excellent. Breakfast was freshly cooked, and lovely. The hotel is an easy walk from the centre of town, in a lovely setting.

  Felt like home again

  Just stayed for the one night but very comfortable as always. Nice breakfast and excellent shower. Room nice and warm as was the welcome from the hosts. Room 1 is at the back of the property overlooking fields.

  Charming place and proprietors!

  Stayed overnight at short notice and needed to arrive late and leave earlier than breakfast usually is. The owners could not have been more accommodating and caring. Stunning Georgian house, clean, comfy beds and modern bathroom, superb breakfast, warm and friendly from start to finish. I know some people might think the decor is a bit dated and I did, if i'm honest, when i looked at the photos, but it fades into insignificance when you get there!

  Just for the weekend

  Nice, friendly hosts. Quiet situation 5 minute walk to town centre. The house is traditional and well used but clean and comfortable. Tea & coffee facilities in room. Terrestrial TV and although the in-room information book stated their wifi wasn't strong enough for streaming it was fine for my iPad. Fair size bathroom with bath plus shower cubicle and nice towels. Freshly cooked breakfast plus cereals and fruit etc. Although we didn't use it, there was a well stocked bar. Our room was on the first floor upstairs and I didn't notice a lift. Unsure if there are any ground floor rooms.
