  Ok place to stay, no doubts

  A somewhat aged hotel but with all functions working. As a EU breakfast freak I had to accept Asian style of breakfast but egg variations are available. Roof top pool is excellent including a well equipped gym but no air conditioning.

  2 Night Stay, Lotus Saigon Hotel, Royal Thai Embassy Visit

  Booked the Lotus Saigon Hotel as it came up on Google Maps as being pretty close to the Royal Thai Embassy where i needed to go for a Visa for Thailand The Hotel is a little dated/worn out, but . . it is a mid-range Hotel, it did what I needed it to do, and more . . The Aircon was fine, lovely and cold, we also had a room facing the road, as it had a Balcony to smoke on, I have seen lots of reviews saying so noisy, but with the UPVC windows and Door I found it fine, yes the drivers love their horns there, but it did not really penetrate the room, and I had a sound nights sleep. Room was fine, Beds ok, Aircon great, TV lots of English channels, bathroom fine, lots of hot water, all in all happy with the booking completely, the Hotel may be mid range, but the staff more than made up for it, great, lovely welcoming and helpful people. Breakfast on the second floor, another large balcony overlooking the city traffic, a sight to see Food choice was good, will make you eggs of your choice also, again, very happy. There is a Starbuck across the road from the Hotel, and lots and lots off small and interesting shops, coffee shops etc etc very close by if you explore all the side streets around the Hotel All in all I enjoyed the Hotel, the Hotel may be mid range, but the staff are first class PS: Had to edit this as too long . . .

  BEWARE OF THIEVES

  There were so many things wrong with this hotel. First, our maid stole hundreds of US & Canadian dollars from our room. I know this for a fact! The service at the breakfast bar & around the pool is simply terrible. Non existent. The walls are paper thin and it was so noisy, not from the road but other guests. There was an actual fight in the room beside us and we had to call security. The spa was under renovation so not available. The hotel is not close to anything. No corner stores or restaurants. DO NOT STAY HERE

  Great staff

  We arrived here after being in bangkok the hotel is ok staff are very helpful but we had to move after 1 day because we couldn't breathe it was the worst pollution I have ever seen and the traffic was so bad which is not the hotels fault .They have a sister hotel 2 hours away so we asked if we could stay there ,I left my clothes in the wardrobe they very kindly sent them down .The swimming pool in this hotel is lovely on the roof but then again be careful cos you cant breathe.

  Pretty good hotel.The pool is small but clean and new and the same for the gym.Great view from there. The restaurant had an open city feel.Breakfast was ok but lunch/dinner varied.Not many other guests for lunch or dinner or in the bar so travelling solo (except for the poolarea) its a little lonely.The front staff was very lovely and helpful.Some spoke good english and others not so much so a few misunderstandings. Rooms where ok and most often well cleaned. Very noisy(some of it due to chinese new year)but not relaxing due to traffic outside and other guest. The location is good but takes sometime learning the dos and the donts crossing the road and its very dirty(this was my first ever experience of Vietnamn).Its hectic. Great for a 2-3 nights if you want to explore the city and wont be hanging around the hotel all days/nights.
