Past perfect!Walking the cobbled streets of Bevagna (cars are not allowed into town after certain hours), we couldn't contain our excitement as we had heard a lot about L'orto Degli Angeli. We were warmly greeted and escorted to our suite La Casa Maggiore. The place was amazing - a sprawling bedroom with an actual fireplace, a well appointed living room and a luxurious bath equipped with a tub and high-quality toiletries. It was like living in a different time zone. There are many common areas with large comfortable seating where you can enjoy afternoon tea, a game of cards or a book. The garden is also a nice option to spend a lazy day. Breakfast is the usual fare served elegantly in the breakfast room. The staff is very courteous and helpful. We were also given a tour of their famous restaurant Redibis - a 1st century Roman theater! It was closed for restoration. It was a wonderful and awe inspiring experience. We have never stayed at a place with such heritage and history. Charmed!

Best Secret in ItalyMost charming and restored Villa "hotel" dating back to 16th century. The original architectural features, period artifacts, décor and courtyard gardens give this venue it's perfect charm. Their breakfast entrees are amazing in that all of the fares are homemade, including the creamy and delicious yogurts. The meats and cheeses are locally made and the fruit jams are incredible. Our only quibble (if even that) would be the less than comfortable bed we had. However, because we were exhausted from our flight and tours each day, it somehow was tolerable : )

A discerning hotel for discerning guests. We arrived at the hotel last Sunday for a four night stay. A delightful spot from the outset ; a winning combination of old world charm and new world efficiency , all encapsulated in a charming and timeless pair of palazzos exuding a wealth of Umbrian character. Hospitality was in abundance and nothing too much trouble. Ridibus, the hotel restaurant, was of a very high standard in all respects. Constantino , the sommelier, served a very generous Campari, and patiently guided us through an extensive yet very reasonable wine list. A beautiful garden for al fresco dining. A discerning establishment that merits discerning guests. We look forward to returning.

A True PalaceWe were so very lucky to have stayed in this magnificent hotel during our stay in Bevagna. We were greeted by Laura, who is the daughter of the owner and it has been in their family since the 1500s. With much passion and enthusiasm, Laura gave us a tour of the hotel and described the history. To be part of such a story, was really touching. She is a beautiful spokeswoman for her business and for her past. The hotel itself is beyond beautiful. It has more than all the modern amenities you can need. The rooms are very large and extremely elegant but with much comfort. The shower is gorgeous as is the large bathroom. The views from any room are stunning. It is very quiet at night. Please do not pass the chance to try their restaurant, Redibis. It is just across the beautiful yard and is housed in what use to be an Roman Amphitheater. The food, staff and ambiance is like a fairy tale -as is the hotel.
