  Wedding Weekend

  As mother of the bride, I was looking for someplace where the girls could all get ready in a beautiful, relaxed atmosphere on the wedding day and where out-of-town guests could stay that was close to our venues. We couldn't have been happier than to have chosen Lookaway Inn as our home base. The caretaker was exceptional in accommodating our needs and adjusting to our evolving plans due to Covid (we postponed from May to August, as well as had guests change travel plans all the way up to the wedding weekend). The girls all got ready for the wedding (including hair and makeup) that morning in two beautiful rooms, and the whole bridal party had a lovely place to relax between the wedding and reception. We recommend Lookaway Inn to anyone looking for a beautiful location for a special event.

  Comfortable Sleep

  We had a very nice stay here - comfortable bed, beautiful, clean room with outside balcony. Our Inn Keeper, John, was very accommodating too! We will come back here when ever we travel to Augusta again.

  Historic and Comfortable

  I've long wanted to stay here and things finally worked out on a recent trip. Even though it was off-season and I was the only guest, I was served breakfast, given a full tour of the original building, and learned lots of local history. My large room was clean and comfortable with an antique look and modern function.

  Super Beautiful Historic Mansion with Excellent Management

  We called and made last minute reservations with John, the manager. He stayed open late to accommodate our arrival. John warmly greeted us and showed us to our beautiful room and gave us great recommendations for a nearby restaurant for dinner. He told us to call or text him anytime we wanted breakfast in the morning. We texted in the morning and had a simple but very nice breakfast at a gorgeous dining room table while chatting with John about the history of North Augusta and the Lookaway Inn. After breakfast John treated us to a nice tour of this 8,500 sq ft mansion and elaborating more on the history and stories about the stainglass windows, and the oil paintings. Truly a great experience. Thank you John!

  What a gem

  Can not give this place a high enough review! We planned on spending just a couple of nights here, but due to unforseen circumstances my husband needed to stay longer. John was the absolute best and worked with us! It was a blessing for sure that we needed! It's a cute historic home, lovely rooms and a decent breakfast. The location is perfect and close to downtown. If you come this way and need a.place to stay, do not pass it up. We shall return for special events for sure and to thank John!
