Nice hotel for business but don't share a room with a friend unless you want to know each other intimately!Stayed 2 nights for work at the beginning of December, group of 7 of us. We were travelling for business so wanting convenience. General The hotel is HUGE. Changsha is currently having money spent on it by the government to encourage international business etc and I think this hotel is aimed at that clientele. On the ground floor are high end shops such as Prada, Fendi, Armani etc. Rooms The rooms were a good size and very clean, the whole hotel sparkles inside - everything is fairly new. Only things that surprised me was an out of place very moudly anti-slip mat in the shower?! The rooms are suitable for either a single person or a couple, definitely not 2 friends sharing unless you want to know each other intimately by the end of the stay. The bathroom is not in a separate room and there is no space for changing if you are with a friend. The bathroom area is open with a toilet cubicle on one side, the shower cubicle on the other and a sink inbetween. Both the toilet and shower doors aren't floor to ceiling and are only frosted in a middle section - hence knowing someone intimately! The shower has a floor to ceiling glass window into the bedroom with an electric blind that is operated from outside the cubicle. There is a 32" flat screen TV with a few English channels including news and HBO. Internet access is included and there is wired access in the rooms. If you want wifi you have to call reception who then come up with a box that plugs into the wall with the cable plugged in. Why this can't be like this all the time I don't know? Breakfast The breakfast is aimed at Chinese (being in China this is fine). However, they have tried to cater for international travellers but haven't quite got it right. One morning there was cold milk, the next there was only hot or soy and the staff didn't understand what I was asking for. Though I did eventually get a mug of milk for my Cheerios delivered with a smile. Dinner Due to work we ate late (about 8pm), the majority of the food was cold and the selection was quite poor. The man in charge was very friendly and helpful. Bar The bar was empty each night and drinks expensive. Location Walk over the gardens at the front of the hotel (accessed from stairs either side of the car park in front of the main doors), down the stairs at the end and there are shops and access to the hypermarket you see advertised (it is literally under the hotel gardens / fountain). A subway will get you across the road. Staff The staff are all very friendly, though the English is quite poor patience will see you through :) Due to the location of our work we need to stay south of the express way and next time we will be trying a different hotel.

Excellent quality hotel. After getting tired of low/medium hotels in other cities, I took this hotel. Rooms are perfect with wide bed and clean/neat atmosphere. The bed was bigger than King size. Wifi was available per request. Shops nearby.

Nice local hotel, but poor location for touristsFor a local hotel, this was high quality, especially the concierge desk. It's not just one person; they're clearly well trained, because three different guys helped us plenty at different times. One guy gave us great advice about how best to get to Mt. Hengshan (taxi to high-speed train station, then 30 min comfortable, non stop ride at 300km per hour) and even biked to station to source and deliver us the tickets with only 30 CNY service fee. The breakfast buffet is one of the best I've ever had at a local Chinese hotel, lots of different choices and well-presented. Problem is location-- it's about 30 min from the city center/20 min from train station and 30-40 min from airport, in a busy mixed commercial/residential urban area. So not convenient nor charming/quiet.

Rooms great. Breakfast terrible. The hotel is modern and comfortable. Very large and comfortable beds in spacious rooms. I got the impression that the hotel was a government owned hotel - it had none of the finesse you expect and experience at a hotel run by one of the big hotel groups. The breakfast was dreadful.

Royal Suite, very nice but nothing too special.Stayed in the largest of the rooms which had great views... well, it had views of Changsha... if you can call that great. Otherwise it was quite clean and spacious. One great annoyance was an evening call to ask for shoe polishing and ice. I was transfered between four members of staff, none of who could speak even passable English. My shoes were taken but not returned, meaning I had to check-out in my slippers until they were magically found. Come on, international city, international hotel has to mean good English skills.
