B&B for a weekend weddingThe bed and breakfast is conveniently located for a wedding at the Kingston Estate in Staverton. When we arrived it was quite difficult to find the entrance before a neighbour showed us the entrance at the back. The room was a good size with an ensuite. The linen and towels were all fresh. The room was clean except for a few cobwebs. The tiles in the shower were stained with mould and the hot tap in the sink did not work so I had to boil the kettle in the room to get hot water for the sink. I mentioned the tap to Alex the host and he just said he has been trying to get a plumber to look at it for a couple of months. The breakfast is satisfactory. Nothing was fried, the host said he never fries anything so that it is healthy. It consisted of cornflakes, grilled tomato slices, two sausages, two slices of grilled smoked bacon and two poached eggs. The eggs were nice but there was no option to season your food yourself. It came already seasoned with salt and cracked black pepper. If you're looking for an indulgent weekend treat for brekkie or a bit of choice this is not the place for you. It is either what the host has decided is "healthy" or no breakfast! We would both have much preferred to be able to choose what we got to eat and add our own seasoning, but the breakfast we did get was satisfactory. The breakfast room was also clearly storage for many shoes that looked like they were for sale online, in bags and boxes. The host was very flexible about you coming and going as you pleased during your stay, and did provide you with a key to the back door which we didn't need but was nice as we were going to a wedding and were not sure what time we would be back. Also one to note - impossible to get taxis to and from. Had to drive to the wedding venue. Alex did say the morning we checked out that he would have run us back to the venue to get our car the next day though. The bed was quite comfy if exceptionally creaky, and we could hear someone snoring loudly in another room when we were in bed! All in all this is a 3 star rating from us. Distinctly average but with potential to be a good stay.

Overnight stay whilst on businessI had read up in advance on Longacre as it's a 5 hour trip to Devon for work and it's always nice to know you have very good accommodation to look forward to at the end of the journey! This certainly didn't disappoint - exactly as I had expected and it was a very nice room in a lovely converted barn, certainly tucked away down a quiet lane! The sun was shining in the morning and the surroundings are stunning. Very peaceful and nice setting and it isn't hard to find if you follow the instructions given! Alex was very welcoming and I enjoyed having a chat about cars and other bits and pieces over a tasty breakfast! Would certainly recommend - it's more like being at home than a hotel and I'll certainly be booking again for my next work trip!

StunningAmazing friendly welcome. So nice. The room is stunning. Well off the beaten track and in such a lovely place. Huge room. Massive double bed, single bed for our daughter and top of the range tea and coffee. We only here one night and I already dont want to leave. Bed very comfortable only thing Id change is the window is huge and only the door part has a light curtain so as soon as sun comes up its really bright so at 04.28 I thought it was time to get up! Breakfast was a reheat as when I asked for something he said its already done, and the toast was cold. I enjoyed it though and would go back as loved it. Oh yes we had our dogs here and he was very friendly with them also. very helpful

Great hide awayWe stayed here to attend my son's graduation in Plymouth. We booked as we had 2 dogs with us and so needed a dog-friendly place. The rooms are in a converted barn and are extremely spacious. They are fitted out in a modern style with clean lines. The bathroom was also spacious with a large wet room style shower. All facilities provided and a tasty english breakfast in the morning.

DisappointingWe stayed here recently and were really looking forward to it. The photos looked amazing. We had the large room with the huge window. Beautiful building and room, but unfortunately not crisp & fresh like the photos. The curtains did not fit properly and had stains on them. The shower room was nice but again very tired and in need of new mastic etc. The room just felt as if it needed a really good clean. It says you have a private terrace but in reality it is a small area and the table & chairs were not all that inviting to sit on and relax. The owner was pleasant enough but we were disappointed with the breakfast, from the reviews we were expecting great things, it was a cooked breakfast, sausage bacon grilled tomato & poached eggs with toast. Personally we felt it was all a little over cooked, and you had to like poached eggs as there was no other alternative. Cereals was cornflakes or Meusli. We have just been used to having more choice ie: yogurt, croissants etc if you do not want a full English. This place potentially could be amazing with a little TLC and attention to detail. The reviews on here are all from a few years ago hence I feel this is why the rooms were so much fresher & cleaner at that time and this reflected in the reviews. This is not a budget B & B So the little details should be right.
