Friendly and welcomingMy family and I stayed here for three nights and we were very happy with our stay. The owners were welcoming and friendly, rooms were clean, there was a good choice of food, and we felt like nothing would be too much trouble. Although not far at all from Tiverton, the hotel has a 'remote' feel to it making it ideal for getting away from it all for a few days and a good base for day trips in Devon and Cornwall. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely cream tea at short noticeWe arrived without having ordered anything in advance and were offered a cream tea, The scones were freshly baked and the combination of cream and jam perfect. Teapot and cups very traditional and tasteful, with excellent tea. Well done them

A gem of a place to stay. This little hotel is a real gem of a place to stay. A pleasent change from the clinical boxes you find in many towns. To be honest it is a little dated, but that adds to its appeal & it makes up for it in other ways. It's location is ideal and Lesley and Jim were so friendly. Our room was really comfortable, spacious and very clean. The beds were very comfy with lovely crisp white bedding. Everything needed was there. We stayed when the temperature at night was stifling and so kept our windows open, yet it was so quiet, being well away from any traffic at the end of a private drive. We enjoyed it very much and are looking for a reason to return. Breakfast was perfect, the best English breakfast we've enjoyed.

Not greatStopped here last night as my work booked it for me.. definitely not the best place Ive been and given the choice I wouldnt go back. Very dated in the reception, had the odour of an old peoples home on entry.. I had room 8 at the top and when I got to my room door I wasnt even sure if it was a room as it had a frosted glass window in the top.. The room wasnt very spacious as it was an attack room, Im lucky I took my iPad for entertainment as the tv wouldnt connect to a signal and finally SPIDERS!!! Im not the biggest fan of spiders and there were quite a few of them in that room and in the bathroom.. for me only good thing was the host that greeted us
