Possibly the worst brunch/lunch weve ever had. After having began our travels at 2am and were absolutely starving by noon we were desperate for a place to eat. This restaurant created a false sense of impeccable service and class. However, to begin with the staff was very rude and abrupt, all the tables outside were reserved and the waiter proceeded to lead us to the very back of the empty restaurant, hidden away by the kitchen - when there was more than enough space everywhere else in the restaurant. The waiter was very impatient with us when taking our order and there were no manners whatsoever. Two of us ordered burgers which came raw and they werent even asked how they would like their meat cooked. They didnt ask if the meal was ok, which it wasnt. Asking for the bill, the waitress was rude and did not say please nor thank you at all.

Relaxed and StylishLocanda Pandenus is four room hotel on Via Mercato in a quiet district of Brera. Theres a bank across, a pharmacy and grocery nearby. There are small shops, furniture showrooms, salumerias, restaurants, bars, and coffee places around it apart from Pandenus where superbly made baked goods, sandwiches and coffee are made. Checking in can be a bit tricky. You either call the listed number of the hotel (I think the owner picks us and then usually calls the Pandenus staff to attend to you) or ask the staff at Pandenus that you will be checking in. There are two ways to access the rooms, either through the restaurant (Pandenus) or a wood paneled side gate which leads you to an apartment building courtyard where the elevator is. You will be handed a set of keys - a tap card (access door through Pandenus which closes at 01:00am), a night key to access the side gate, a key for the elevator, a key for the living room and finally the key to the door - Whew But once inside, you will be grateful and honored to have stayed at this understated and elegant property. The rooms are tastefully decorated and actually look better than the photos in their website. The beds and pillows are so comfortable and the linens and towels fresh and crisp. WiFi, an excellent mini bar, Bluetooth audio speakers. The room interiors and furnishings are very updated and current. Vanessa from housekeeping did a great job keeping the rooms clean and tidy. Mirko likewise did a great job checking us in. Breakfast means going to the Pandenus counter and choosing whats on display. You order your coffee, juice, and water and just show yourself to a table like what most Italians do. If youre looking for a hotel with a local neighborhood feel with a very understated and refined crowd, this has got to be it.

Super cosy - loved returning to my room every evening! There are several Locanda Pandenuss dotted around Milan and I believe this is their newest baby. Its located smack dab in the heart of Brera, which is a nice little neighbourhood to be in. Youre not in the middle of the crazy chaos that is the Duomo and while Navigli is wonderfully charming, it can be a bit of a trek. Brera is a good balance, helps that its also quite fashionable at the moment. There are only 4 rooms available. And they are really nice. Seriously. Very spacious (bathrooms too!) and very well thought out. The beds are a delight, #bestsleepever. And a full suite of bathroom amenities. If you don't feel like it, leave the toiletry kit at home. And my favourite - a really good hair dryer. Decor is incredibly stylish without being cold, lots of cozy touches like wood finishes and soft throws/pillows. The restaurant downstairs serves up a good breakfast and is really nice for people watching. People zip in for an espresso on their way to work and have a lively chat with the waiters while there. When people say boutique hotels, they clearly had Locanda Pandenus in mind. Highly recommended.

OMG!What an amazing Italian experience! 4 rooms above a cafe/bar in the Brera area of Milan, next door to a mozzerella restaurant, near Sforza Castle Art Museum. Super helpful and friendly staff! Stunning comfortable rooms.

Mixed feelingsThis is a cafe and bar with just four rooms on the second floor that they rent out as hotel rooms. The location cannot be better. The rooms are nicely decorated and spacious and a little pricey. The cafe/ bar downstairs is very popular among locals and a source of noise for the rooms. Concierge service practically does not exist except the check in. The service during the breakfast is very bad. One has the feeling that the hotel guests are a burden on them. The only person that shows some interest to guests is the genuinely friendly cleaning lady that one meets during daytime. It is a pity that one cannot add a human touch to such a place with potential.
