    overpriced and noisy

we've booked this location for a relaxing wine tour in the area. Location was central but on a busy road. Swimming pool was not heated and to cold to take a swim, but it seems to be the standard in Italy to have no heating. We were welcomed without a drink, no glass of water at arrival and not even a bottle of water in the room. There was a wine box in the cellar from where you could buy a bottle of wine (to high priced for the poor quality) We've booked a room with kitchen and a terrace which -according to the photo's- had a great view, but the terrace overlooked the garbage! We did get another room, a "suite", indeed with a terrace but that was it... the small fridge was badly cleaned (bad smell and dirt on the rubber), no water, a broken bottle opener and mold on the ceiling and walls. As it is a b&b you would expect a facility with cutlery and plates so you could prepare a small meal for yourself and do your dishes... but that was not the case. A small cooking plate in the basement but not fit to be able to prepare anything there, not even a salad. We've booked by booking.com and the price they charged had various supplements, quite a bit more than we thought it would be... The bed was of good quality and so was the breakfast. The breakfast was perfect! Anna, the lady who takes care of housekeeping and breakfast was very friendly and helpful when she was around.

Nonsense: They disturb their own guests!

The B&B is well furnished inside and the rooms are cosy but without A/C, the breakfast is good; from the photos on the web site it seems to be a place surrounded by vineyards; actually, the vineyards are nearby but the B&B itself is located at the main entrance to the village, stuck to a big roundabout. During our stay in late evening one member of the owning family drove a very noisy tractor with a shearing vine plants tool until it was completely dark, then he decided to come back at 5.30 a.m. to finish the task! The noise was very loud, the tractor was pulling a metallic rattle and the hunk had to coast the B&B windows to reach the vineyards. In my opinion this is simply unacceptable: there are also several private houses adjoining the vineyards, so I wonder how those people can stand all that noise. I'm quite sure they won't see me again...

Amazing place to stay and some of the very best Barolo wines...

Due to the Collisioni Festival in Barolo it was almost impossible to find a hotel (with a swimming pool) close to Barolo the days we wanted to go there. When we finally did, it was a B&B run by Christina Burlotto. We were received very friendly by Christina, who also showed us around. As they were also offering wines and the wines (obviously ;-) should have the right temperature, all rooms had a small box in the (wine) cellar - see picture. Great and at the same time funny idea. The room (with balcony) was spacious and clean. We also enjoyed the swimming pool several times. The breakfast is just great. Especially we loved the many cheeses and the selection of fruit. Focused and lovely service at breakfast. What we didn't know when choosing this hotel, was the fact that it was run by an excellent wine producer, "Comm. G.B. Burlotto". During our stay, we had the pleasure enjoying two wines of Burlotto's Barolo wines (2012 from Cannubi - at the Falstaff restaurant next door - and a 2013 from Acclevi at the Locanda dell'Orso Bevitore). Both wines are absolutely magnificent, but according to Christina they are totally sold out :-( I will try to be ready for the next release of these wines. Next time we will be in the area, we will chose this B&B rather than anywhere else.

    Friendly and relaxed hotel

We had stayed four nights at Locanda dellOrso Bevitore. It is situated in Verduno, Piemonte. Unfortunately it is next to a busy street and has no view at all. Rooms are nice. We had a double room with no kitchen. Every morning is served a nice plain breakfast - others has described it as superb. That I cannot agree on. There is a nice selection of fruit, juice, yoghurt and cheese. Some bread and cakes. In the basement is a small selection of wine, soda and beer available for each room. The wines are locally produced by the owners of this nice Hotel.

    Perfect!

For those who may be unfamiliar the farmhouse is owned/operated by the historic G.B. Burlotto winery, which is one of the most well respected Barolo wine producers in history, and makes some of the greatest Barolo wines you can find. Cristina is in charge of the farmhouse, and was able to accommodate us for an early check in 1 hour before normal check in hours at no extra charge. The farmhouse is located in a great location. Its just down the street from their winery itself G.B. Burlotto (about a 3 minute walk). Across the street is an amazing, and affordable restaurant (il Falstaff). Across the street is also Az. Agricola L'Orto Delle Erbe which sells homemade (by the shop owner) jams, spices, infused salts, hazelnuts, etc including Barolo infused salt and Nebbiolo jam this is a MUST visit. Just be sure to call/email ahead of time and let them know youre coming as they dont have regular hours. All of this is about a 10 minute or so drive away from the town of La Morra which has plenty to do. Walking through the streets, and stopping in the various boutiques is a gastronomic experience, and the view near the Belvedere clocktower is breathtaking. Now more about the accommodations themself. This was actually our first time staying in a farmhouse (we have only stayed in formal hotels in the past), and our stay was absolutely PERFECT! The room which was one of the apartment rooms was quite large. It has a balcony with chairs, air conditioning, well equipped kitchen, 2 TVs, couch, complimentary wi-fi, Burlotto wines by the bottle, swimming pool, and bathroom stocked with very nice Italian soaps. The room appeared to be all original dating back to when the building was constructed dozens (perhaps hundreds?) of years ago, was in pristine condition, and was BEAUTIFUL. The stay included breakfast which was one of the highlights. Breakfast was a quite extravagant spread of cheese, some dry sausages, fresh baked bread, cakes/tarts, and of course espresso. By the way the cheese is AMAZING! Look no further! This is the place to stay while visiting Langhe! Everyone was so friendly, accommodating, and made our stay their PERFECT! We are already planning our return! Thank you Cristina! Grazie mille!
