  Nice hotel and friendly staff

  Perfect location! 7 min walking to the West Lake and its beautiful park and 30 min by taxi to thee and silk museums. Bicycles are also available. Restaurant offers Chinese food in the morning and afternoon. Room service is good, staff is helpful although not everybody speaks English. Nevertheless its a pleasure to stay there.

  You "need" a car if you're going to stay here

  This hotel was average - the service was good, the employees and staff were friendly. The room was well decorated/clean, albeit a bit small. The washroom though was quite large, with both a bathtub and a shower area. Also, I must point out that we stayed at this hotel because it allows you to add an extra bed for free, and provides complimentary breakfast as well. The layout of the hotel is a bit confusing, as it is a complex of 6 low-rises. The buildings are numbered 1-6, and you check in at the main building (1), but some of the living quarters may not be in the same building. To go from building to building you have to go outside (we were in Building 2) - which makes the travel within the hotel a bit confusing and difficult in bad weather. The restaurant/breakfast is in Building 6, which if you exit from the main entrance is on your left (but again, you MUST go outside so it sucks if it rains). The title of the review pertains to the location of this hotel. Although other reviewers have indicated that it is close to attractions such as Lingyin Temple and West Lake, especially Huagangguanyu (looking at fish), there is one forestry-like narrow/hilly road (the road is called Faxiang Alley, emphasis on the Alley) that leads to the hotel, that is not lit at night. If you don't have a vehicle, I don't know if it looks safe and easy to navigate up to the hotel (it is in the hilly regions west of Hangzhou). And you have to walk pretty far from the nearest intersection even during the daytime (very difficult with luggage). So I would just point out that it is in a pretty secluded area and a car is basically a must. We even asked the parking attendant if there was anything nearby that we could walk to - he said no, you need a car. Free parking is available.

  Good hotel near west lake and far from city

  The hotel is located near west lake and little bit far away from main city. So, if you have your appointments or work in the main city, you should avoid. However, for the tourist, it is one of the perfect places to stay. West lake, parks, korean temple etc. are very near to the hotel within walking distance. They require few more english speaking staff. However, their non -english speaking staffs are also very helpful and always ready to help.

  Very Nice Hotel

  We stayed here after our original hotel reservation didn't work out. The staff was really great. They saw that we very concerned about not having a place to stay and checked their cancellations to find us a room. The staff didn't speak much English but they went out of their way to help us to feel comfortable. The room as very clean and nice and close to west lake.

  Great location inside West Lake area

  Great location inside the West Lake area. So its great for sightseeing. Its also near Zhejiang University if you need to be close to it. Too far from the central city if you are there for business. Accessible only with a car. Room spacious. No view on the back side. Staff had very little English.
