    Tourists at the Lindner Spa

This review is meant for Tourists visiting Lindner Hotel and Spa - locals seem to understand this place, so this review is not intended for you. I gave this review an overall 4-stars because they deserve it. The hotel and spa are beautiful and our stay was quite lovely. However, this resort did a truly terrible job of making tourists feel welcomed and a part of the experience. The management and staff should take note of the following to help future tourists who may visit. First - this was the only place we visited in Germany where English was an issue. Signs, guides, receipts and staff simply were all in German. When I checked in the employee spoke English very well, and asked me if it was my first time staying there. When I said yes, I guess I would have liked a little more details on the place and how it works, since I didn't know what questions to ask. She basically told me where the spa and restaurant were and that was it. The rooms are beautiful, lots of towels, robes and slippers included. We had a beautiful view of the pool area and it was great. The complex is divided into two areas - the Pool area and Spa. We were given a guide to the grounds when we arrived, but it was entirely in German. We had read that some areas were clothing optional - that is NOT THE CASE. The pool area requires a bathing suit, and the spa area requires you to be naked. We initially went swimming in the pool, it was beautiful. There was nice path to the sauna, but when we went there in our swim suits, a man yelled at us in German and pushed us away. It was very awkward and we didn't understand. We ultimately used Google translate to take a picture of a doorway to finally realize it was a clothes free area. Obviously this is well understood by locals, but as tourists it was a difficult experience. Later we enjoyed the spa area in the nude, but saw a spa employee being very aggressive about the "rules of the spa" to three other tourists. This could all be avoided with some explanation or a hotel guide in English. The employee literally made them leave the sauna, undress, and then return. There is only one option here for dinner - and we were fine with that. However you need to have a reservation which was not clear to us. When we went to the restaurant for dinner, we were made to feel quite stupid for not having a reservation, that the restaurant was completed booked (though less than half full) and that we would have only the option of dining in the lobby on couches and coffee tables. How embarrassing! And on top of that the food was quite mediocre and over priced So for you tourists - you can have a wonderful time here if you are ok with being naked in the spa area, and book reservations for dinner.

Nice place - selection of breakfast was poor

Nice hotel with nice facilities. Pool and spa was wonderful. The staff was helpfull. In the underground parking was even charger for electrical vehicles for free. But the breakfast was poor, no hot meals like sausages.

The pool was nice, the rest was not...

We booked a last minute 2 night stay as a treat for ourselves after the easing of the lockdown... unfortunately this was not the best place to escape for a relaxing treat.. the hotel itself is fine, maybe needs a lick of paint and some maintenance here and there, but the personnel was grumpy and overwhelmed and the food at the restaurant tasted dull, premade and then was super overcooked probably in the microwave. We also had to wait for over an hour to receive our wine and water, which came well after we finished our underwhelming appetizers... For this price and amount of stars, we really expected something more gourmet and better kept, with significantly better service. The pool was nice and you can explore the area on rented bikes, which is also nice. Parking was charged when we checked out, 16 Euro for just having the car outside, felt like they were squeezing every penny out... should really be included for hotel guests. Overall, hotel would have great potential with more dedicated service and better food/bar, but we certainly wont be going back...

NO Service, MICROWAVE food, GREAT spa... JUST DON'T GO

We arrived and had to question everything from the lady behind the counter! She gave NO information out of her own intention and the welcome drink also got forgotten. The room was very okay, but not exquisive 4**** material. The spa facities were GREAT!! nice pools, jacuzies and saunas! The food was really bland... shrimps had the texture of a sponge and quite frankly also tasted like it... the appetizers seemed to come directly pre cut out of the fridge... and the chicken was as dry as my late grandma's sexlife! If the service speed had a race with 3 snails they would come in 5th!! All in all, the restaurant experience was way below freezing point! Parking tickets were steep at 8 per day... JUST DON'T GO!!
