  Greta escape after Alpine Classic

  Lovely accommodation, great area, fantastic food and helpful staff. Huge rooms. Nice bar, swimming pool. Greta restaurant and lots of places to visit in area. Good rest spot after Alps. Wine selection great.

  Tale of Two Cities

  Having planned a surprise romantic getaway for my partner and I, I wanted to leave no stone unturned in the planning to have my partner overwhelmed with the level of romance. I had booked the deluxe spa suite for two nights which I was assured was the best room in the hotel. I had arranged for French Champagne on arrival, chocolate dipped strawberries and rose petals to be spread over the bed and floor. These things had all been confirmed verbally and via email and thought would also be a nice touch to go along with the local produce bag that we would receive with our booking. Upon arrival to our room I was very excited to let my partner enter the room first and to see her excitement. However the only thing she could see was the disappointment on my face. There was no champagne, no chocolate dipped strawberries and no rose petals. We did receive a local produce bag of dukah made at the hotel and a small packet of crostelli. Not worth the build up. The deluxe spa bath would barely fit an average size person let alone two people and if you enjoy mopping up the floor for 10 minutes with your towels after your shower because the floor has sunk leaving a two inch gap between the bottom of the shower door and the floor then by all means this is for you. But not for me having paid over $500 per night. The food and beverage team at the hotel by far rescued the stay. The breakfast was very nice and the coffee very well made. When I did make my reservation a 3 course dinner was included and I arranged for a private table to be set up in the courtyard overlooking the vineyard to set the mood for my impending marriage proposal. The table was set as requested and the wait staff were incredibly pleasant and good at their job. The meals were very nice and the marriage proposal was accepted. I would seriously consider attending this property again purely for the quality of the food and beverage. I wouldnt consider staying at the property unless a drastic remodel or repair of the bathrooms, in the best room in the hotel.

  A few disappointments...

  We booked a sunset view room and the (shared) terrace was indeed a big plus although reduced room privacy substantially. Room fine although colour scheme not to our taste and it seemed a little tired. A more comfortable chair would have been good. Bathroom OK but robe hooks out of reach (top of the door!) and could really have done with hand towel ring and a shelf or table next to the sink. High speed WiFi was very slow and intermittent, which was irritating because hotel located in a poor mobile (Vodafone) signal area. Restaurant food, wine list and service mainly VG but room lacks any kind of ambience. Also disappointed by lack of drink service when we arrived 20 minutes early for dinner. Front desk very helpful - especially in dealing with aftermath of missed housekeeping service after 1st night. More road noise than anticipated, which didn't help overall experience. Overall, would have expected a little more luxury given the price.

  Very tired accommodation

  The building and accommodation amenities need a complete revamp. Chairs in bedroom hard with no cushions, bathrooms very dated and not clean, balcony chairs the same, balcony doors difficult to shut, wooden shutters broken, WIFI dreadfully slow would not download emails, management failed to provide clean towels and tidy room so had to ask. Staff were generally very good, but let down by a building that is very tired!

  Extremely disappointed

  Attended a wedding here. The toilet had marks inside the bowl really disgusting. No hot water which when reported was working when we came back from breakfast. The wedding was lovely but the staff need training in pretty much all aspects of hospitality. The manager was pointed out to us and well lets just say he did not lead by example. Smiling or just being polite was not forthcoming and it felt like the guests were more of a bother than paying customers. Was really looking forward to it but would not recommend this place to anyone. We booked 2 nights so we could relax after the wedding and totally regret it. Housekeeping was non existent - had to go to reception and get fresh towels and make the bed ourselves. Went to the pub down the road for dinner and it was fantastic. Even got a smile, some banter and it was a great atmosphere. Lancemore Milawa could learn a thing or 2 from these guys. Dont waste your money.
