  Cute & Stylish Hotel

  My partner and I stayed here for a weekend away in town. For an old building the room was well maintained, clean and nicely decorated. It was lovely to see a hotel that offered their guest complimentary mini bar and fresh Australian toiletries in the bathroom. The Limes Hotel is in a good location walking distance to multiple bars and restaurants. There no onsite parking, however a Secure Parking building is just around the corner. Unfortunately we didn't get to have the full experience of staying here as the rooftop bar and spa was closed for a private event. Overall, the stay was enjoyable and the staff were friendly. Tips: - Book online and park your car at the Valley Metro Carpark located on 52 Alfed St. A single overnight carpark cost us $30(+booking fee) entering before midnight and exiting the next day before 12pm (midday). - Alfred and Constance is a building away, prefect distance for dinner and drinks. - For those who are after an intimate bar and restaurant Dutch Courage is around the corner. Make sure to book a table to avoid disappointment.

  Solo traveller stay at Limes hotel

  Nice room good for one person, friendly helpful staff, a little noisy with music from next door but not unpleasant, clean room, and walking distance to restaurants, bars, China town, train station etc

  Great Value for Money

  Great location, clean and modern rooms. Very friendly and helpfull staff. Off site parking is walking distance. Good value for money for a quick stay in the city. Roof top bar always a good place to start or end an evening!

  Not what we expected

  I wanted to love this place so much more but unfortunately it just disappointed on a few areas. When we initially enquired about accommodation for my birthday weekend - we thought we had found a winner with Limes. The receptionist at the time told us about the complimentary mini bar which was refreshed daily, a special guests hour where you got a complimentary drink- and on Saturdays was a cocktail! And then to top it off a yummy complimentary breakfast from a local bakery - so we were sold as it seemed like we had found a hotel that really valued its guests. When the holiday came around - we arrived a little early (midday) as we were super keen. Warning bells started when we had to wait just under 15mins before a staff member arrived in reception only to be told you cant go into the room until 2, they gave us our room key and checked us in but said housekeeping wont have it ready until 2. Which was fine as we went out for some lunch anyway. When we returned the room was very nice however there was major construction being done on the roads out the front of the building so we couldnt have the balcony doors open. It would have been nice to have been informed of this construction work etc before we arrived. The guest drinks on night 1 were great & the bar staff really friendly. In the morning we went down to get some breakfast only to be told it wasnt included and we needed to pay. We were really surprised by this as there hadnt been an option to add this, and it was included in the room details when we booked. We went to go in the hot tubs in the afternoon only to be told we couldnt as the rooftop was being decorated for a private function later that night. This also impacted on the guest hour as there was no cocktails as advised and as the private parties guests had started arriving early 5:30- bar staff were quite busy with them and security asked if the hotel guests could please leave. As for the mini bar it is not restocked daily. When we enquired about when housekeeping would be replenishing it- Reception told us you only get a restock every 2 days not daily. Again this is not what is advertised and even in your own responses to others comments management say that the mini bar is restocked daily. It was a shame that there were all these little things that put a bit of a dampener on the stay. It clearly didnt feel like the front staff or housekeeping staff had much of a care factor for the guests to try and make their stay a little special. Im uncertain if we would stay here again. The location is amazing but the little extras that make it sound so much different to the others really arent as advertised

  My worst hotel experience

  I stayed for one night for a business trip and my experience was quite far from pleasant; my room was wrongly assigned to another guest who I met when left the shower and he was in the hallway, his apologies were not enough to hide how embarrassed he felt for that uncomfortable situation. After that incident, I call reception but there is no one, absolutely no one to help you after 5 pm, the calls are transferred to another number which no longer looks after the hotel. My anger increases when my keys no longer worked to open my room door and I was no able to leave the building because after 5 pm your key room is the only one that opens the main entrance door. After all, that series of incidents I was already 40 late for a dinner with a new client and waiting for someone to come to the hotel to give me a new key, and basically, after her speech of mistakes happen her statement was I was the sole responsible for all that. When you think nothing else can go wrong, the morning after when my breakfast was delivered to my room, the coffee machine was not working (a clear issue with the GPO, because I unplug and switch it in other and nothing). Honestly, after that experience, I would never recommend someone to stay there, the poorest guest service and empathy one can ever face. On the other hand, I would fairly say the room was impeccable tidy up and the bed was incredibly comfortable. For the money you will pay in that hotel you can certainly find another around the area more suitable for your needs and if any issues happen.
