Reseption: Helpful staff but the lobby...Reseption: Helpful staff but the lobby was dark and uninviting. The lobby bar was never open. Room: The room was small with a tiny balcony with room for just 1,5 persons. The bathroom was worn out and not verry nice. Bed was ok and the aircondition worked well. Pool: Poolarea was ok with a pool bar with drinks and snacks. The pool was a bit filty on the bottom. But water was clean. Sunbeds had madrasses and was comfertable.

Deserted in August 2011..but fineI stayed at les Sirenes twice en route to Libya from Tunisia, and found it good value for money. Very quiet, so I slept very well. Rooms are nothing special - more like European three star, with spartan baths. But I was there to spend time outdoors and get exercise. The lobby staff were unusually courteous (for Tunisia). Again because it was deserted, I was able to swim laps in the excellent pool with only one or two other people in the pool, and almost no children around. The hotel seems to bend over backwards not to acknowledge the beach, which is just a few minutes walk from the pool, but the beach was decent. Excellent for running. The water varied from clear to cloudy but was usually calm enough for swimming a kilometer or so parallel to shore. The coffee at the hotel is excellent but the rest of the food is wretched - typical of Tunisia. Better food - actually appetizing - at the small beach restaurant immediately to the right of the hotel, entrance from the beach. The location is in the middle of nowhere but then there is nothing much in Houmt Souk anyway. There is a convenience store across the highway from the hotel (no problem to cross).
