    Great Location; Excellent Restaurant

We've had lunch at Les Geranium on several occasions; most recently in early November, 2017. It's one of our favorite restaurants in Provence. On the warmer days, it's possible to eat on the terrace with views out over the vineyards in the valley below. The food is excellent, and there is a selection of better local wines, priced reasonably. The owner and staff are pleasant and helpful. The restaurant is in the pretty village of Le Barroux, a couple miles east of Beaumes de Venise, and just west of Caromb. If your visiting out of season, it would be a good to call and check the hours.

    Fawlty towrrs

Absolutely dreadful stay. Shabby, dirty, broken furniture. Rusty fittings in bathroom, scratchy carpet and furnishings. Hot, no air con, lousy burnt food served barely warm but burnt on top (from grill possibly). Stale breakfast. Garden but no shade whatsoever and furniture is old plastic dirty, mismatched. Doddery old clientele and owner who doesn't care about guests. Whilst sat on patio (outdoor space) at front we chatted to him but he didn't even remember we were staying there. Joke menus in which every drink we asked for was unavailable - until we got to ice tea and when he brought it it was actually past its use by date. There is nothing in the village except a small chateaux. Don't stay at this hotel. No staff except at meal times. It is an insult to the hospitality trade. If we could give it zero stars we would. Don't believe the 3 star rating. Don't know how they can display that.

Had a wonderful time and enjoyed superior service

My friend and I stayed here in July. We enjoyed ourselves and have fond memories. I had lost one of my hearing aids the day before at the Palais des Papes in Avignon. The manager made a call for me and relayed that the hearing aid had been found and turned into the front desk. We retrieved it as they promised. I appreciate his assistance very much. We had two breakfasts and on dinner, but were fabulous.

Good choice in the old town, but not great

Top floor triple (tho we asked for a double). As with most old buildings repurposed into hotels, the room has a bathroom and closet cut into an old room. In this case, the small shower insert is in a different closet section from the extra tiny toilet space (which we could not close the door on since our knees exceeded the space). Both shower and toilet space need at least one more foot wide of space the room itself is decent sized and could have accommodated more space for the bathrooms. Not much lighting in room. Only one water glass (but at least it was glass). No in room coffee. Comfortable bed, in the old town, on site restaurant (run by the hotel owners) with limited but good food. Some wall art. Rooms showing some wear and tear, but not bad for the price!

    Does the job

Stayed here on a recent tour of the area. At first couldn't find the entrance as the car park over the road was better signed than the hotel. We were greeted warmly by a lady who I am presuming was the owner and who provided us promptly with a couple of beers on request. The property is definitely quirky and in some areas is definitely in need of a bit of tlc, however we had comfortable beds, a clean room and a hot shower....not really much more to ask for? Yes, toilet was tiny and involved me having to leave the door open and dangle my legs into the bedroom but that's not too much of an issue for me. We didn't dine there as wasn't really aware before we got there that there was a restaurant and I already had my eye on another one in town. Enjoyed a nightcap before bed and both owners were chatty and friendly. Breakfast was pleasant and the first place we came across all week that had toast and eggs. Wonderful view of the Rhone valley from the dining room. Yes it's quirky and yes it needs some work, but it served its purpose perfectly well.
