Very enjoyableMy son and I stayed here before our trip to Giverny to see Monets gardens. We checked in at around 6 pm. You will need to call ahead as there is not a dedicated reception desk. The rooms are old. We had a junior suite, room 17 which overlooked the lake and restaurant with terrace. The smell of the food being cooked over the wood grill was sensational! We had dinner at the restaurant, I had grilled pork and my son had fish of the day which was sea bass. Food was excellent and very fresh. There was a small issue with our housekeeping and it was taken care of by the owner, Fabrice. If you have allergies, be careful. The property is near water and quite a few trees. There arent elevators, however the room was very spacious. We stayed for lunch the next day and shared the prime rib. One kilo of meat for $55.00 Euro. Make sure you are hungry.

THERE IS NO PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION TO THIS LOCATION!I pre-paid for two rooms for two nights at this hotel. We arrived by train early evening in Vernon, France only to learn that the hotel was 7 miles away and there is no Uber available in Vernon and the taxis don't run after a certain time of day. (We called all 10 taxi companies listed and got no answer, then the local hotel we ended up at told us they don't run at night) Basically we were stranded. We called the hotel several times, speaking our little bit of French and were told a taxi was being sent. But after an hour of waiting and the sun going down we booked a local hotel that we could walk to. It turns out this hotel doesn't even have a front desk so we were speaking to people in the restaurant who didn't know anything about reservations. I have been fighting with Hotels.com since July to get a refund. They keep calling the hotel but there is a "language barrier." I think the hotel booking sites have a duty to notify travelers if a property is not accessible except by private vehicle. That was my lesson on this trip - make sure you know how you are getting to a property if you are taking public transportation.

A different place to stayThe hotel is on the bank of the Seine. A great place to stay but can be difficult to find. It is approached by a level crossing or under a narrow tunnel. Dont be put off by that or the trains. Fabulous views and situation. Able to have a long walk along the river bank. A very popular place especially the dining room. Staff are friendly and helpful and the food is excellent. We had the largest bedroom which was simply furnished. The only thing which let it down was the daily cleaning which was very perfunctory- no vacuuming, window sills had dead flies, no clean cups on tea tray etc. This needs to be improved especially if like us you are staying more than a couple of nights. Even has its own man made beach!

Lovely spot with fantastic breakfastLoved our one night stay, the setting is very calm on the river. Breakfast was very good, loved the little touches - nice attention to detail. Room was comfortable and modern, friendly staff. Nice beach bar overlooking the river was a great way to finish off the day. Restaurant was also nice and convenient.
