The Lemon Hotel is like squeezing a Lemon in your eye.

On the eve of June 15th me and a friend were slightly worried about Russian Hooligans, what was waiting at the Lemon Hotel was much worse. On arrival, the rain was gushing through the 24/7 open sun roof, we were given a code for a room which was occupied by a man smoking a cigar on the bed? Finally entering our room, the view was an overgrown wilderness car park. Our beds were made from planks of wood, badly cut with blunt rusty saws, with a hard mattress on top. Vending machine never worked. The Lemon Hotel had a sour smell of hot bolognese sauce topped with mince. Showers topped it off, dirty and cold water. Had to hover why having a poo because of no toilet seats with flashing lightbulbs. Have a good stay people, thanks.

I'd rather eat nothing but lemons for the rest of my life than stay here again.

Well, what can I say about Costa del Lemon Hotel? It was like being in my very own horror movie, we arrived after an exhausting journey and wanted nothing more to curl up in our cosy beds, as we arrived the rain poured down heavily, we ran the final 100 yards to the hotel to get into the warmth & dryness of the hotel. Little did we know that thanks to the sun roof being permanently open it would have been dryer outside. The receptionist looked at us with contempt and gave us a key, as we passed the other occupants of the hotel, they looked as if they would attack us at any moment. We placed the key in the lock, opened the door, to find a man sat on the bed smoking a cigar. Eventually after getting our correct room key we settled down for the night. I can tell you, I've had better sleeps sleeping on the floor of a public park when I was 14 and told my parents that I was staying at my friends house. After this unforgettable first day we decided to stay out of the hotel as long as possible, a smell of permanent hot bolognese sauce, flickering lights in the showers, cold water, no toilet seats on the toilet, I was actually relived to finish our holiday and get home so I could have a hot shower. Football Hooligans were the focal point of Euro 2016, I'd rather have met a group of angry Russians on my own down a dark alley then step foot in here again.

Absolute rip off! Not a hotel!

I never even got to see the room as, having paid on line 55 euros, I was told I would have to pay again as they had not received my payment. I tried to argue but the two African attendants were not interested at all. Another customer came in and had the same problem. We both went elsewhere. As I had booked through Booking.com I am trying to get a refund from them.

    Who is the cigar man?!

After a long journey back from southern France to the U.K. we decided to rest up at the Lemon Hotel. Upon arrival we had the absolute disgusting pleasure of sleeping in the hell hole that is the lemon hotel. Greeted by the famous bolognaise/ashtray aroma, we were greeted by a snarling and unsavoury man who you wouldnt want to have round for dinner who coincidentally was employee of the month for the previous month! After hauling our luggage through what looked like the Hostel movie set, I punched in my code and opened the door, only to be faced with........CIGAR MAN! Eventually, we were then thrown into a free room with no lock, stained sheets (with I dont know what) broken blinds and faulty lighting. I then decided to have a shower but quickly decided against it and stood in the rain with my shampoo instead. If you can avoid the urine on the walls or the faeces on the toilet and dont mind contracting hepatitis, go for it. I cant disapprove this place enough and please for the love of god and all that is holy, spend an extra £10 for a hotel B&B or may god have mercy on your soul. This experience with Lemon hotels has made me feel very sour indeed. AVOID. Who is cigar man?

    Hotel lemon truly world class!

If you love the smell of cigarette smoke on your duvet. Then you came to the right place! The hallways in the hotel are like a prison. Probably a good location to film a horror movie. The local area feels a bit un safe. We came for the Paris Roubaix bike race and the staff was very helpful which was the only positive after they let us put our bikes in the room over night. The hotel was in fact very unclean in my opinion. So unclean in fact that me and my cousin decided on sleeping in our sleeping bags was better than using the smoke smelling duvet. It was so bad the smoke we had to an buy air freshener from supermarket next door! I recommend staying here if your traveling on the cheap and love the smell of cigarette smoke.
