  Relaxing and peaceful

  Convalesced at the Leisure Inn Pokolbin after a major surgery and it did not disappoint at all. The grounds and units are maintained with a high level care and attention. Staff are attentive and caring on every level from the time of booking to being greeted at the property. The location is awesome just 10 minutes from shops at Cessnock and walking distance to Harrigans Irish pub, a winery and the Pokolbin gardens. I read some poor reviews online about property that I can now say in my opinion have clearly come from spoiled silver spooners expecting an unrealistic fantasy. This property and the staff are amazing as is the beautiful rural and peaceful surrounds.

  Looking tired

  Leisure Inn is ideally located but in need of a refurbishment. The gutters of the buildings need the leaves removed and the rooves cleaned. Carpets need replacing. Maintenance is non existent. It is such a pity as the tennis court, swimming pool and restaurant are great assets.

  King size bed is a joke

  My partner and I stayed at the Leisure Inn at Pokolbin In a studio king spa room. For one night only!!! Because after a big night, when we decided to go to sleep. We discovered it was infact two king single beds pushed together. The website did not mention this. My partner and I like to cuddle while we sleep, we constantly rolled onto the join which was sinking and separating. My partner didnt sleep much and woke up with a very sore back. When we checked out the man at the desk didnt really do anything about it, he barely apologised. Seemed to think we should have known a king sized bed wouldnt be a true king. On top of that, we had to check into our room much later than intended, because there was an accident outside their main entrance. It took about 5 hours or more to clear it. Accidents happen and it cant be avoided, but it really put a spanner in the works. We would have stayed somewhere else but you cant get a refund. The sheets on the bed, looked clean but smelt of damp like the sheets werent dried fully or left in the machine too long. If you are planning to have a romantic evening in the spa, think again. Its really only big enough for one. Its alright for a cheap stay, or family trip. The place was clean and tidy. But I suggest if you are a couple to book the queen or double. Its really close to a lot of wineries and restaurants, which is why we chose to go there because some are within walking distance, but unfortunately the accident changed our wine tasting plans. If it wasnt for the king bed issue, I would have given 3 stars.

  get a way from sydney

  the positioning of the vilas was great.a nice tranquil stay was had. the staff are very good. dvd player did nt work,called the office and a new player was instaled very quickly. we will come back to leasure hill in the future and will tell our friends to come here too

  Hunter wineries

  Had a fantastic few day as a taster. Keen to return and planning who will be invited to join us. Hood value accommodation, great location. Staff were helpful. Planning a family trip next time as the facilities allow nicely.
