Very Disappointing! As we drove into the "gate" (i.e. entrance, as there is no actual gate), we were greeted by a faily big rat which crossed the road. Our airport transfer driver helped us to off-load our bags and our experience started immediately. No hotel staff to help with luggage, receptionist does not speak English and is really not interested in any welcome message (not that he could communicate it anyway). Finally, we got our room key (fourth floor), so we had to take the lift ... a dirty lift with black paper bags (the garbage bag type) covering the sides of the lift. When we reached the room, the Air conditioning was an old split type A/C dirty (they do not know that it should be cleaned) and the controller was also old and dirty. The room had been cleaned but there was a distinct stale smell which reminded me of dampness ... I suppose it rains a lot in Thailand and the moisture somehow gets caught up in the rooms. The bathroom was at least clean but very basic, nothing special so do not expect any luxury. The balcony was dirty ... full of dust and bird droppings! Finally, our "friendly" neighbours took time to come and say hi ... they were young shirtless guys (who sounded Russian), they wanted to welcome us and to ask what plans we had ... All in all the experience was terrible when you've paid for luxury a vacation ... quite disappointing. We quickly logged on to trip advisor and booked a new hotel (Siam Bayshore) which was quite delightful.

Sheer DisappointedHotel appears good by luk but inside is totaly opposite.NO Private dining facility.NO free WiFi.NO coffee & Tea service if u'd like to fresh your mind. Thanks god to small cafe next to the hotel which is far better than this hotel.this hotel is far(apprx.9-10km) from the city and not worth to take if u want to enjoy Pattaya city. Please take hotel near to Pattaya beach as its save your transport money as well as time to hangout.still if u choose this hotel then hired a motorbike to roam around city and up n down from beach side. Best of luck for your pleasant trip...to Pattaya.. :)

Friendly and clean but a wee datedAt 850 baht a night it s not bad.The bus stations on the doorstep, breakfast is included and lots of channels to choose from although the TV,s are old.big rooms and bathrooms.Has a pool too.The breakfast is Thai rather than European but toast and jam and eggs are available.not sure why I have to write so much sometimes less is more. Please take note tripadvisor.

disappointngdo not make up your mind as its resort, its a normal 2 star hotel and only positive part is they have swimming pool. rest Mini Siam is the only attraction which is near by even you can walk for 10 minutes to reach there..... Street Dogs are protecting hotel as they are many around. break fast is just for the name as its not impressive but something is better than nothing. rooms are big but looks very ordinary, cleanliness is not impressive again, but as its 2 star so OK according to that. low lighting in corridor....

Good budget hotel without frillsArrived at the Zen for 1 night over Christmas. The Hotel is a little tucked away and a 40 minute walk to the bright lights of the beach road and surroundings. Fortunately for me I love waking but I can see how it would cause problems to others. Rooms were a good size, clean on the inside but the balcony was full of dust and had not been swept or mopped in weeks. Facilities were basic and 1 pool was not available- there were several broken tiles around the pool too. Breakfast was basic too and mostly unappealing by the time I arrived at 9.30am. Staff were friendly. Overall, for the price I thought it was pretty good but if you are expecting luxuries then the Zen is not for you
