Lovely stay at the Leasowe Castle hotel

Had a lovely few days here to visit the surrounding areas. The room was perfect (I think I had an upgrade ! ) The room was very comfy and in a quiet part of the hotel. The staff were lovely and very helpful.

Nice stay but not what we expected

A great, beautiful location, easy to find via Sat Nav. On check-in, all COVID procedures were explained and staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast obviously isn't being served as normal and instead they offer a meal bag containing a sausage or bacon barm, a piece of fruit and a cereal bar for £7 each which we decided against. Medieval decor on the interior is great, especially coat of arms about the place and a suit of armour. Room was a double with £20 upgrade for "sea view". The room was contemporary and clean but a little on the smaller side with minimal room between the desk and the foot of the bed. Plenty of amenities provided including tea, coffee, biscuits, still and sparkling bottled water. Ironing board and iron in wardrobe. Decent sized wall mounted TV with freeview and decent wifi. Safe provided under the desk. Above average sized bathroom but toilet is too near a protruding pillar so most would have to sit slightly sideways on the loo. Good sized bath. Shower had no power to it which got an "Is that it?" response from us both. Remote on wall appears to control the lighted mirror which did not work. Fresh towels large and medium provided. Bed was a bit hard for our personal preference and we did have to sanitize the TV remote with a antibacterial wipe as it was full of dust and hadn't been cleaned for a while. All in all, we enjoyed our stay. It's just not what we expected for £80 on a mid-week one-night stay.

    Next Stop Premier Inn

Stayed here to write a report as Work paid for the room, which unfortunately meant I could not change once I had arrived, believe me I would have been gone in a flash otherwise. Firstly the man who checked us in was extremely rude and was dressed in a t-shirt and jeans. His grasp of English was not great and he was very aggressive towards me. Once i was given my room key, I was shocked to discover that my room was actually the size of Harry Potters under the stairs. The bathroom had mould and the paint was peeling of the ceiling. Being on the 1st floor I was also delighted that my window had no lock on it and even the flies wanted to escape . The hairdryer was a fire hazard and the TV was bracketed to the highest point of the wall, it was a bit bigger than a portable dvd player without a remote control. Don't bother complaining to front desk as they just laughed at me. I got chatting to a lovely couple who had paid the same as my work did for the room for a suite DO NOT STAY HERE, PAY THE EXTRA TO STAY AT THE PREMIER INN

    Straightforward

Stayed here for two nights midweek for work purposes. Situated well back from the main road right on the sea front. Looks scenic from the outside and inside it is a very historical decor which I found atmospheric. Staff explained Covid-19 situation; no restaurant but room service available with limited menu and breakfast bag. Dinner main courses were four different types of burger or fish & chips and breakfast was a sausage or bacon bap with croissant, muffin, detail bar and orange juice. For dinner I ordered in from a local takeaway and the staff provided me with cutlery, crockery and brought a beer to my room which was nice. Room felt a little on the warm side so I slept with the window wide open which then gave me the faint sound of the lapping waves. Because of its location, there were no other sounds. Felt that if there'd have been two of us in there, it may have felt a little cramped. Ablutions modern and clean. Good transport links with aMerseyrail stein within a 10-15 minutes walk and two more a shirt buss ride away. Good access from the M53 motorway. A more than acceptable standards and service in these difficult times.
