Accommodation and dinner with a surprise!A warm welcome greeted us upon arrival at the motel, the staff were friendly and helpful. Shown to our room we were surprised how large it was and how nice the facilities were, comfortable beds and pleasant surroundings. Only thing I really could have done with was a shower screen as showering without one made it difficult to keep the floor dry. Dinner was difficult for me as an animal lover, the table decorations were goldfish in a carafe of water, weird!!! It was difficult to enjoy my fish dinner with his brother sitting there on the bottom of the carafe watching me. Poor little things didn't look happy at all, I had to fight the overwhelming desire to gather them all up and let them go in the nearest pond or large fish tank I could find. Out of respect to my dinner companion I ate my meal but had I been on my own the nearest McDonalds would have been more appetising and I would have left. For me this totally spoilt an otherwise wonderful stay and was enough for me not to return.

Amazing restaurant in a small charming villageMy parents and I were visiting South West of France (we live on the easernt side), and a friend of mine had told me about this place. I was stunned by the quality of the food and service, probably worthy of the most renowned chefs and restaurants in France as far as I know! A culinary experience I recommend to anybody visiting this wonderful area. Note that we only went to the restaurant and did not sleep at the hotel.

High Class Restaurant in a Good HotelWe were totally unaware of the fact that Michel Truchon is a star chef as we agreed that we would dine during the evening of our stay.I say this because the restaurant and wine list prices may come as a surprise to the unsuspectingHaving said that the meal was superb.Service was first class and we thoroughly enjoyed the meal.I ordered an expresso and we were served delightful canapes for two included in the price. Parking is free just outside the hotel and there is free WiFi.The breakfast is expensive but it was also first-class. Sauveterre is quite small but is a delightful bastide town.I would suggest that you ask for an earlier check-in rather than the official 1600 so that you have time to wander round.

One of the Aveyron's best kept secretsIt's funny how sometimes good things just happen. I was with clients visiting a property close to Sauveterre de Rouergue when hunger struck. I had remembered a little restaurant on the edge of la Baside and suggested we should go there. Horror of horrors, it was closed and the closest reasonably priced eatery was 20 minutes away. Then my client suggested looking at the the restaurant opposite, LeSenechal's menus. The prices certainly looked out of reach for a casual work lunch. But then we noted that there was a 30 menu du jour. We took the plunge and not for one moment were we disappointed. From the amuse bouche to the coffee, which was selected from the coffee menu no less, we enjoyed such a selection of courses full of subtle tastes and textures. All washed down with a rather fine wine (not included in the 30). Don't ask me what I ate, I can remember a main course of sea bass, but apart from that each course was lost to me in a sensual invasion of all my senses. If ever you are within reach of this restaurant, you owe it to your inner being to get in there and enjoy the moment

Bike tripGreat four nights in this shabby chic hotel. We had the loft which was very spacious with an urban feel. The kitchenette and seating area was great for our friends to join us for pre dinner drinks before we headed out for a meal. Breakfast was lovely with bowls of fresh fruit, yoghurt and bread - enough to set us up for a days cycling. Le Senechal has lots of small spaces tucked away so has a real charm to it - perfect for a relaxing stay.
