  Refrescante

  Es un hotel sencillo pero cargado de extras. Lo primero es que está en un pueblo encantador.Tiene un parking estupendo y una piscina tras el castillo que permite disfrutar después de una jornada de visitas por el Loira,de un merecido y refrescante momento de relax. El cuarto de baño tiene separado el wc de las duchas y las habitaciones son amplias con camas cómodas.El ambiente es muy tranquilo . Hay spa pero no lo probamos.

  Superb view & refreshing swimming pool

  We just stayed there for a short combined business & family trip, and everything was perfect. Very nice and understanding staff, clean and well equiped rooms with a great view on the castle of Montreuil-Bellay. WIFI working fine from our rooms (relatively fast, and it should get better sometime as soon as fiber will be installed in the city), and continental breakfast with a nice choice of breads and cheeses. Thanks again & a nice summer for your staff !

  Great overnight stop

  We stopped here for a night en route back to Channel port. Although we booked at the last minute we were made welcome and had a lovely quiet room with nice en suite shower. All very clean. They offer free WiFi and free parking which is excellent. The buffet breakfast was 10 each but there was a good choice, the only downside is that there is not a restaurant on site but as its in the centre of the town they will happily book somewhere for you.

  Lovely stay

  We stayed here for three nights in July. The weather was very hot. This is a beautifully situated hotel with views of the chateau. Walking distance of several good restaurants, the chateau and the river. The hotel looks to have been recently refurbished. The rooms (we had a 'comfort' room on the top floor) are not huge but comfortable and clean. There is no aircon but fans are provided. Rooms on the top floor have smaller windows. There was a severe drop in water pressure a couple of times when using the shower in the evening when the hotel was busy. The breakfast is plentiful with lots of choice and everything freshly prepared. We used the swimming pool a lot, which was heated and lovely but there are only 2 parasols; could be more available. However the hotel does not supply pool towels, so you will need to bring your own or make your room one soggy!!! This is not mentioned anywhere in the booking details. This needs to be addressed. If the hotel has a pool there should be towels provided in my view. We did not use the Spa where I believe towels and robes are provided. The only other niggle was that the internet went off for 2 days and there is no phone signal unless you walk up to the village. Nothing much seemed to be being done about it and the staff seemed unconcerned. The staff were generally helpful however. Would stay again

  Superb location and comfortable stay

  Great base for a Loire tour. We stayed a week - excellent room with an exceptional view of the chateau. Welcoming staff and good breakfasts but no restaurant - but that is no problem as there are a number of great places to eat within a few minutes walk from the hotel. Montreuil-Bellay is a fine town, with many interesting buildings including a magnificent chateau and, a bit off the main Loire valley tourist area, it is relatively peaceful. Within an easy drive of many places to visit, this is an ideal place from which to explore and then return and relax and enjoy good food and the local wine from the chateau. One slight criticism is the lack of shade for sitting outside - not enough umbrellas / lack of an awning at the front.
