Inside better than outThe 1970's exterior was out of place in the otherwise charming old village. The interior decor has been updated but windows, doors & plumbing have not yet been done. Crazy paving on the back terrace needs attention. Good selection of food & is OK. Surprisingly staff spoke NO English although hundreds of visitors come to the area from Canada, America & Britain - the English speaking countries who liberated Normandy in WWII. Unfortunately we could not understand their local dialect & they could not understand our basic but usually adequate French. Since there was no translation on the menu, a lot time was spent with the waitress trying to find out what we wanted to eat.

Great room pity about the heatWe stayed at the Relais de Montigny en route from Brittany to Calais. Very pleasant staff, exceptional food at dinner , breakfast perfectly adequate. Only drawback was the lack of any air conditioning bearing in mind it was in the middle of a heatwave. So we slept rather poorly on top of the beds. We ate outside on the delightful terrace. It was very busy and the food was really great.

A little gemWe stayed one night stopping off on our journey from the Vendee to Calais. The hotel was lovely and clean and each of our 3 rooms had a nice balcony with views of the gardens. The evening meal was absolutely superb. We all said how good it was and worthy of a top London restaurant. Wed definitely choose to stay here again.

Convenient Accommodation on route from Calais southAlthough the outside of the hotel looks very severe and functional (we think it might be a converted factory/warehouse), it is very nice inside. There is a bar with comfy seating, a restaurant and a breakfast room. There is also a terrace overlooking the garden, where meals can be eaten in the summer. The room we were allocated overlooked the gardens, and was very spacious, with a balcony, where you could sit in summer. If you intend eating here, the book a table and eat early, as lots of business men use this hotel, so ti can get very busy. The food is excellent, as is the wine, but don't expect a very large choice. Breakfast is taken in a separate room and there is a good choice of breads, pastries, fruit, some cereals, jams, meats, cheese.

Broke in without knockingVery nice garden view, newly renovated (looks like) rooms, great olive oil soap, suffice parking. One star deducted for someone broke in (opened our door without knocking and asking) at around 8am while we were in the room?!
