Lovely Location - Food DisappointingLe Flouka is a nice place if you want to escape from the hustle and bustle of Marrakech. The hotel/restaurant is beautifully situated overlooking the Lalla Takerkoust Lake. Our room was spacious, clean and decorated very tastefully, although the terrace was dirty and tired. The interior is a mix of traditional Moroccan items combined with a more modern African style. I was disappointed with the restaurant as prior to arriving I was emailed by Christian prior to arriving regarding any dietary requirements for our evening meal. As my daughter is vegetarian, he advised that a Vegetarian Tagine could be prepared for her. That evening when the main courses arrived, my daughter was given a BEEF Tagine hardly suitable for a vegetarian!. When Christian was advised of this he advised that he would speak to the Chef and organise a Vegetarian Tagine for her, which he did. This eventually arrived as a Tagine with carrots and courgettes (hardly imaginative for a Chef !). The following evening, my meal was not particularly inspiring and the fish was incredibly dry. On the Sunday the Beautiful People from Marrakesh arrived for Sunday Lunch and took over the hotel ! Overall it was an ok couple of nights but I would suggest more attention from the kitchen and more attention to detail , ie sweeping up and replacing some of the tired outside balcony furniture.

Great Location but bad hotelThis location is just lovely. But beware if you are staying at the hotel. The restaurant seems to be more important than the hotel. Someone will show you the room. Thats it. No one asks about your cases, no explanation of how things work, breakfast, check out etc. As a hotel guest you are a guest with no priority. Opposed to the crowds pouring in for lunch, who are really annoying. There is no place to go between 12 and 4 pm. As a hotel guest, there is no escape. Totally annoying and loud. We fled the compound during lunch hours. The rooms used to be quite nice, but need a make over. They are spacious with small windows. The toilette is dirty and not fixed to the floor. The furniture outside ist really dirty. So you cant really relax and enjoy the deck. Again. The restaurant ist great, for lunch (and dinner). But breakfast is a disaster. Old bread, three jams, bad coffee, some crepe piled up in a total mess of buffet. This was really bad. And not worth a dime. Also, we saw the staff clean used cups, and juice bottles under cold water, no hot water or cleaner. Nothing. No surprise that we got diarrhoea. This all sounds really bad. The point is. This place is a great location with good food in the restaurant. But don't expect too much of the hotel. The manager was really nice and friendly. Also the owner. But they did not really pay attention to us being a guest at the hotel.

Very disappointed.Food was very expensive, for what it is. We didn't like anything we ordered much. For lunch they always have the same menu. Breakfast is a mess, food is just randomly served to the table, by a single waiter, who seems to be overwhelmed by the amount of work. The food you get for breakfast is one of worst, we ever got in Morocco. For example; cheap yogurt, cheap cheese and old bread. No pancakes or traditional Moroccan bread. The rooms itself need to be renovated.

Lovely stayThis was our 2nd visit and we had a lovely time. The staff are great and the location is fab if you just want to rest and relax as there is not much else to do unless you have a car! We had a lovely large room with terrace and lake view. The pools are great but the larger one is able to be used by restaurant guests so can get busy during the day. The food was good and the restaurant has a lovely setting. However I'm vegetarian and whilst I was catered for I didn't have much choice. I do echo the previous comments about breakfast - it was hit and miss and certainly not as good as when we stayed a couple of years ago.

ExceptionalAfter four busy days in Marrakesh we decided to hire a car and go out of the busy city. Le Flouka was the perfect place to go. The location is exceptional. There is a huge terrace with outstanding views into the Atlas mountains as well as over the lake. The rooms are equipped with everything you need, they are very clean and we had an open fire place in our room which keeps us warm as night temperatures where falling. The restaurant at Le Flouka is outstanding, and it seems to have a very good reputation as people come from fare away to have lunch there. In the evening they get the fire place going to have a cosy dinner in a warm restaurant. Christian, the manager, gave us a very warm welcome at arrival and all the staff is very friendly and attentive. All in all a perfect stay and we will definitely go back when we return to Morocco.
