Needs refreshing, but good foodLocation: 30 clicks east of Troyes. Tiny village, close to an amusement park (but no noise problem). Absolutely nothing to do in the village, so only good for an overnight stay. Hotel: apart from the dining and breakfast areas, which are clean and pretty, the rooms are in dire need of an overhaul. Treadbare carpeting, broken appliances in the bathroom, moisture spots on the ceiling and could benefit from some dusting. Staff: I had a feeling they were a bit understaffed. Laundry still in the corridors even at 5 pm. We took a (very good) glass of champagne on the terras. At 5 pm on that terras, there were still food remains of the lunch service to be seen, forgotten napkins, .... Nobody came to check on us to see if everything was allright. They were friendly enough, but do need to up their game. Breakfast: standard and of good quality, but again nobody of the staff to be seen, so if you have a problem or a question, you have to go in search of them. Coffee is by means of an espresso machine, so you risk standing in a cue. No decaf available. Dinner: this was the redeeming factor of the Moulin du Landion. We had a very nice meal, good service, nice dining room, correct price.

Absolute calm in a renovated watermillWe had a very relaxed stay at this charming hotel on the final night of a driving holiday through France. A highlight was an aperitif and diner in the delightful bar/restaurant set snug against the old waterwheel. The staff were welcoming and helpful but with just two people tending the bar and serving diner they were sometime stretched. Breakfast was the only negative: the coffee was poor and there was no natural yoghurt which, for a hotel of this standing, was a surprise.

Address to avoid, horrific experienceAddress to avoid, horrific experience This hotel does not have the charm it claims. The dining room is well renovated and the view of the mill wheel very nice, but the rooms does not fit the standard of a "Château hôtel", although clean and comfortable. Where everything is spoiled is in the restaurant. The menu is quite attractive and enticing, but the cooking is very uneven and especially not at all generous, a morel in a sauce that is stingy. Slices of veal liver 3 mm thick, it looks like (bad) canteen. And the worst is the service. The server thinks he can afford anything and has not understood anything about his job. But may be all the problem comes from the management, it seems not to be concerned, and do not even answer the letters. In short, you can avoid this address

As good as alwaysWe have stayed at this charming hotel many times and it is always good value. The Prestige suite has parking right outside and the half board is such great value. The food is good and the staff are always welcoming. They make our little westies very welcome too.

Wonderful location and very nice staffWonderful location and super friendly staff. The restaurant has a great tray of delicious cheese from the region, good wines and of course delicious Champagne! As for the menu it is rich, but the cooking is average. The breakfast (13) is really nice, with sweet and salty stuff, good coffee, large choice of teas, fresh bread, fresh fruit, jam, yogurt, eggs etc. The room is nice and very clean with a comfortable bed, but the corridors are a bit smelly and the doors are old and very noisy. Finally the SPA: we did not use it, but had a look at it. It is just a big Jacuzzi with a sauna. It must be reserved n advanced as it is for private use at a 17/h rate .
