  An excellent holiday resort

  We booked 3 rooms and stayed for one night. The hotel is clean and comfortable. We had a walk at the garden of the hotel and took some beautiful photos. It's not the peak season so it's a bit quiet there . After dinner, we went to the karaoke room to sing and has lots of fun. The buffet breakfast is included and is good. The swimming pool is big and should be a good resort in summer time. Want to come again.

  A satisfying accommodation

  Excellent location, 10 min walk to XI-Tou Nature park. Room simple yet comfort enough. Bed with good back support, a very critical factor making this place a top choice. Live band definitely a wonderful surprise for this mountain area, especially when it performs pretty well. Outdoor swimming in the mountain spring water pool a truly relaxing experience. Food is ok. Recreation facility has big room for improvement. Overall worthy of a high recommendation.

  Confused as to what expectations one should have

  The entrance and grounds of this hotel suggest it is a 4+ star hotel, but the rooms are 2-2.5 star hotel quality. The service is that of a 5-star hotel (though that seems to be true of most Taiwanese establishments I stayed at). The lobby is grand, and location is amazing if you're going for a hike in the national park; but the rooms are old with stained carpets and cheap showers (acrylic shower stalls instead of glass). All this being said, the people in the area said this was still the best hotel in the region, so I'm not sure what surrounding hotels are like. In general, I would just say not to assume the rooms will be as extravagant as the lobby. Also, it's not overly expensive, so value-wise, you're probably not overpaying.

  Disapointing hospitality

  Booked this place on hotels.com for my family reunion. I couldn't join them so I thought I booked this wellknown hotel to give them a treat. But, the front desk surely didn't know how to do the job insisting that the stay wasn't paid for in a really bad manner. I had to call to coordinate from overseas. I book with hotels.com often and this has never been an issue. After they found out it's paid for, my family was patronized. If you're looking for a hotel with great hospitality, there are more options.

  Splendid Environment

  Building is comfortable and splendid with good building skill taken to make it classy. Lobby is like a European palace. Impressive. Service staff are few and effective. They are kept busy by tour groups. Rooms are well appointed, what you would expect for a five star property. Wall coverings, furniture and carpet are attractive with class. I especially liked the bathroom sink marble, real with gorgeous natural patterns. Swimming pool beneath a waterfall looks inviting but water temperature was 11° C to 14°, which is not enjoyable especially with children. Apparently, management does not want guests to actually use the pool otherwise it would warm the water to at least 18°.
