  Mas de lo que esperaba

  Al llegar a la pequeña ciudad de Yixing, me encontré con la sorpresa que mi reservacion estaba hecha en el nuevo Hotel Le Meridien, un gran confort, magnifico servicio e instalaciones, el desayuno tenía como 30 diferentes opciones, el precio muy bueno para la calidad del hotel

  Pick of the bunch Yixing

  Stayed one night at this hotel after having stayed in same brand in other city. Delivers same level of design and presentation including the very pleasant aroma when you enter the lobby. Looks very clean, modern and premium. Staff were very prompt, courteous, and spoke good English. Upon entering my room I discovered a recurring Air Conditioning trend in this part of China for this time of year. They do have a default central setting which appears to be 26 or more degrees Celsius which I find too hot to sleep in. This was not able to be adjusted which was disappointing BUT the manager did move me to an upgraded room which was fantastic! Tip is to try and request a corner room if you want cooler temps. Food here was very good, I had their Buffet Hot Pot which was great value at 127 CNY which included all food and even beer on tap! Breakfast was also a good spread and check out was simple and fast. I recommend this hotel as great value for money just beware or the Air Con situation.

  Hardware is OK but service is not there

  The hotel should have good lake view in a right time of year. The room is pretty good size, temperature is fine. Bed is OK. They looks do not have enough parking space, so vehicles block their entrance but the doorman just watching people struggling to make parking, ten feet from his nose, no help offered. The room I got need make two turns from my bed to toilet, to get another room takes very long time. They do not honor Best rate policy even you show the proof, however, they bring in a lot of local residences with half price of regular guest. These people wear their heavy coat in breakfast, which makes the breakfast like in a shoulder by shoulder mall. Employees do not greet guest, even no eye contact on the hall way, very weird. It is a new facility managed by non-professional, if I have choice, I won't choose this hotel.

  Poor customer service, Bad parking space

  Parking space is full on the first day when we arrive, so we had to find parking space in the basement. However the basement parking of the hotel is linked to the nearby shopping mall. There is only a very limited parking space for the hotel and then we have to pass through a rubbish area in order for us to get to the hotel elevator. During our stay, we requested things, the housekeeper always take a very long time to get our things. We asked for bottles of water, and it came after 3 calls and 1 hour later. Interestingly, the next day when we left the room and came back, the housekeeper supposed to clean & tidy the room properly. It was just a mess. I think the hotel definitely needs to retrain their housekeepers properly as they really do a very bad job in their housekeeping service especially this Le Meridien brand is not a 1 star hotel. Beddings were not even fixed properly. Though I can say their breakfast area is pretty good, and the Head Chef monitors his food quality as we can see that hes always checking the food & moving around from one station to the other. They need to up their housekeeping department and try to arrange specific parking space just for hotel guests in the common parking area of hotel & the mall. We are P member of the Marriott brand and definetely knows Marriott standard. And the hotel housekeeping level is definetely not up to it.

  I was only in the hotel for two nights arriving after 11:00 pm on the first night. As such after my appointments I had very little time in the hotel. despite that the hotel is clean, and comfortable. The public spaces are heated, which is not a given in China. The room was nice and spacious, with a good work desk, (the wall butted out from the corner of the desk and interfered with the chair). The bed was comfortable, however I did switch pillows for comfort. The bathroom had a screen between the tub and the room. Considering I was alone, it was not an issue, I am not sure, what couples preferences are. Even with the screen down, it is see through. Bathtub and shower are separate and I truly enjoyed the hotel's treated bath gel and shampoo. Within 5 minutes walk of the hotel is an nice size mall with a good selection of shops On my next business trip, I will probable select the same hotel.
