Variable QualityMy partner and I stayed at the end of May for 2 days. The hotel is located in the beautiful countryside a couple of kilometres from Barjac - a charming town which is close to the Ardeche. Clearly, the hotel has been recently refurbished. Here are the positives: - great location - nice pool area - good car parking ..and the negatives: - cluttered reception (with a shop which is very poorly laid out) - very small Standard Rooms with even smaller bathrooms - cramped dining area (with the table too close together) - too few staff to provide an effective personal service - poor cleanliness of the pool (which was full of debris) Sadly, for us, the weaknesses outweighed the positives - a shame!

Wonderful food. Service a bit slowWent for dinner with my family. The hotel and restaurant is a very nice getaway and more relaxed than most more touristic places. Loved the simple yet well coordinated and cooked food. And the wine! The service is a bit slow but kind.

Another perfect stayWe came back after our latest visit in 2013 and were again welcomed very friendly. We enjoyed their nice pool area overseeing the Olive trees and wine yards. The rooms are all individually decorated and are a good installation in the old building. The wine harvested around the Hotel is served in the restaurant. The kitchen in the restaurant is just great and offers local menues from the area. We are sure we will come back after this wonderful stay

False advertising, overpriced, however enjoyableWe came here as a family of five for a night in late august. We were told when reserving that they only had two rooms left, a simple room for two and a prestigious room for four with a jacuzzi - so we took them. The prestigious room was double the price of the simple room. When we arrived and were showed to our rooms, the simple first, it was lovely; the prestigious, however, was a bit of a shock. It was almost identical to the simple, it just had a jacuzzi outside. The 'room for 4' was actually a room for two, just like the simple room, with a sofa bed. We were extremely disappointed with how we had been misled. Unfortunately, for the price and the description, it was disappointing as our expectations had been set much higher due to how the hotel had advertised itself. In addition, we were not in the main building which appears to be a large, classic, cosy, southern french B&B. We were in a modern, plain extension off to the side where the majority of their rooms are. However, the photos on the website do not show this, for obvious reasons - this is not what people are looking for when they are looking for a quaint Southern french countryside stay. The decoration in the rooms was also very modern, oversized, dark and a bit tacky with feather light-shades and bling-ed lamps. Otherwise, the pool area and the breakfast were great. The breakfast buffet was quite good, there was a good variety and we all found something we liked and ate well. The view from our rooms as well was beautiful, across the lavender fields with the mountains behind. That was definitely the southern french touch we were looking for. All in all, we had a good stay, however, overall we thought it was overpriced, and were unfortunately disappointed that we had been quite misled. We will not be coming back, however, thank the staff for their hospitality.

An exceptional hotel and stayThe epitome of a perfect hotel experience and a true sample of excellent hospitality in a charming stone building, Le Mas du Terme is the perfect destination for a romantic getaway or a relaxing holiday with the family. We enjoyed relaxing by the hotels beautiful pool before a drink at the bar and a delicious meal at Le carré des saveurs, the hotels restaurant. There is also a nice small boutique selling local produce. Surrounded by vineyards, lavender fields and olive trees, the view is exceptional and the region has plenty to offer, from cycling with a guide (Spirit VTT comes highly recommended) to kayaking on the Ardèche Gorge or hiking. The entire staff went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was unforgettable, which it was!
