  Hotel de "charme" a un precio razonable

  Un hotel de la época en que la ciudad de Aix era conocida por las termas. Muy kitch con decoración bien adaptada. Piscina excelente, hammam, jacuzzi y micro-fitness. Situado casi en el centro de Aix les Bains. Cocina de muy buena calidad y muy buen desayuno

  Fawlty Towers!

  This hotel should be called Fawlty Towers! Everything about it is second-rate! That includes the service, the decor and the standard of cleanliness. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone! We arrived at 4.30 pm and ordered a cup of tea. Unfortunately, the receptionist forgot to pass the request on. There were no pillows on the beds only an insufficient kind of bolster. The shower over the bath did not have a fitting to hold the shower above waist height! The corridors were dark as indeed were the rooms. It was like stepping back in time to the 1950's! The fridge in the room was empty. We had assumed when we returned after dinner that there would be bottled water in it. The night porter said he could not give us water - he wasn't allowed to do so. I could go on and on...........

  In Need Of Investment

  This hotel was built in the 60's and desperately needs investment. Our room was actually fine but was not cleaned adequately. Lift was not working and was a relic of the 60's. Breakfast was poor and tables not cleared from dinner so limited choice of seating. We ate only once in the hotel in 5 days once to many. The hotel is also a good 2 kms from the lakeside and further to the restuarants and ferry terminal,

  Lovely Surprise

  Le Manoir is, in fact, a well-dressed manor house with service to match. Many rooms look out on gardens in bloom even in October (some with balconies). Its lovely dining room serves good food in an old-fashioned decor. We particularly appreciated the dining room on the rainy night we arrived and its kitchen even came up with chicken sandwiches for the day we left. Quite special in our travels, Le Manoir has a truly heated indoor swimming pool in which we could swim laps! Apparently, folks come here for the Thermes and stay for three weeks, room and board. We could see why. Aix Les Baines is a great location, probably jammed in summer but we found easy parking along the lake and enjoyed a walk while watching sailboat classes. Lovely hotel with lovely grounds and a lovely restaurant. And theres free parking across the street.

  Faded glory!

  I note a review from 2013 said 'In need of investment', well it has still not happened! We had booked a studio, but were put in a twin room instead. The room was very old fashioned and at the back of the hotel, it was however clean and reasonably comfortable. The breakfast is a complete rip-off, with 1 bread roll and a few small croissant, the following night we had a choice of about 30 items for 2 euros less! It's best feature is the lovely swimming pool.
