  Perfect place to stay on a buget in a quiet location

  We hadn't intented staying in this town as we were travelling to Gerardmer. But we wanted to have lunch and were curious about the "Thermes". Having parked our car close by we found an excellent Moroccan restaurant with very good prices and wanted to try that. Within 100m is the Lion Vert so we enquired about price and availabilty The owner happily showed us a room so that we could judge suitability for ourselves. For 48 Euros a night for a double room with en-suite shower room and a separate en-suite WC this accommodation is excellent value for money and well appointed. Room 5 even has a small balcony with table and two chairs. We had a bread and cheese supper with a bottle of local wine. Our room overlooked a quiet quadrangle in which we parked our car (no charge) and could see the car from our balcony. The hotel has a bar and serves a good breakfast as well. Compared to the many places that we have stayed in France during the past two weeks the Lion Vert is excellent!! A similar2 star establishment in St-Hippolite cost 99 Euros and was not as good. Wi Fi is available FREE and easily accessed with strong signal. Unlimmited access as well. Would certainly return and recommend to others. The owners are very friendly and speak 'a little' English. We had no trouble making ourselves understood.

  Not so nice!

  Difficult to think of much positive to say about this place- yes its cheap and the lady on reception was very friendly and the motorbike was parked undercover and there was wifi but the room, while clean, was pretty shabby but with an overbearing musty smell. Overall a throwback to 60s and 70s but quaint it was not! Breakfast just about OK. Probably the least inspiring place we've stayed in over the last few years

  Simple but nice hotel

  Simple hotel with two stars. It is housed in an old building. The room was simple as well, with good beds and a separate bathroom. Everything was well cleaned and the hostess was very friendly. Changing the Led light bulbs for ones with a warmer white light would give the room a more friendly ambiance. Breakfast was good with lots of choice. Not at all like the croissant and coffee I have seen at other hotels.
