    Ouch

Wow, where do I start... I guess with the fact that the hotel shuts down promptly at 8pm with no obvious recourse for guests that happen to be a bit tardy, other than to stumble into a pizzeria next door where the proprietor has been miraculously given check-in instructions for said guests (the pizza was great there, too). The room we so misguidedly booked at this hotel was reasonably clean, adequately furnished and equipped with a shower, a sink and... no toilet. Not entirely unheard of, but not really something you would expect at an ~80 euros per night price point. But frankly all of the above would have been just fine had they not overcharged my credit card - took a deposit at the time of booking and then charged the full rate after we left as if the deposit had never been paid. Had to file a dispute with the credit card company, which is a whole different story. Anyway, the bottom line is, avoid.

Unless the street is the only option, avoid!

I booked to stay here during Euro 2016 as the hotel is within a 5 minute walk of the stadium. Clearly the price was extortionate as you would expect during the competition. My room had a shower but no toilet, which was shared between 8 other rooms! Worst than that, the shared toilet has no hand washing facility hence all of people's germs remain in the door handles etc. The hotel has no aircon and it is on a busy street. hence I had a choice of sleeping on what sounded like a motorway but be in a comfortable temperature or less noise with the windows closed but feel like I am sleeping in a sauna. In the end I tried both and slept for about an hour. The hotel offers free WiFi but it does not work. You can also here between the thin walls. if staying here rbig your won shampoo etc as just a tiny bar of soap is provided. Horrific experience.

Null points! Location, location, location isn't everything

I may have stayed at a worse hotel in my life. But I don't think so. Not even the youth hostels many years ago. I am only giving 1* because they don't allow a 0* To start with the stairs are quite steep, but there is no lift. The receptionist seems totally uninterested in anything remotely helpful. When you get to your room it's a disappointment to put it mildly. The main light switch doesn't do anything, one of the bedside switches is very dodgy. There was a dearth of sockets and it was noticeable that the USB charger became very hot, possibly being damaged by their electrics - a suggestion that there is something faulty there. It gets worse. The wifi doesn't work on that floor, so I had to go down to near reception. The receptionist No. 2 seemed totally unconcerned when I explained that 'wifi ne function pas'. Summed it up, really. Then there's the shower. The shower head could not be hung properly, but that wouldn't matter as there was no hot water anyway morning or evening on two nights. Then such was the design, it was a giant step to get into the shower cubicle. The tap in the washbasin had no nozzle so the water went everywhere - except in the centre of the basin. It was August. The temperature in Marseille is 30+. There was no air conditioning. Yes, you can open the window, but it's a road with a modest amount of traffic and some noise. The floors are uneven then carpeted over - goodness knows what's underneath. The cost was nearly 130 and for that price you don't expect 5* but you expect a reasonable service. I would wish that the listing sites would remove them quite frankly.

    Avoid!

We only stayed for 1 night during the semi final of Euro 2016 (total of 16 hours) and that was more than enough. We had 2 rooms which were very basic and extremely dated. Both rooms had a dingy vibe and were very unclean, with what looked like a few decades worth of stains on the carpet. The rooms was very small and cramped and you couldn't move without bumping into or over something. And the shower / sink rooms were again very very small and unpleasant, DON'T touch the sides!! No air-con so in mid summer it makes being in the room almost unbearable. We paid an embarrassing amount for these rooms, but my opinion wouldn't be any different had the price been any different. On the whole unless your desperate I would avoid at all costs.

    Hostel not a hotel !

This is definetly not a hotel. It is a hostel. And not even a good one. One Toilet for the whole floor. Wifi not working. Whole hostel shakes when some one slams a door. Breakfast is one bread and croissant and one piece of Butter and one piece of Jam. Please dont go there.
