Nice apartment but overpriced restaurant and no air conditioning made it a stressful stay for us!

We stayed here for a week at the beginning of August and although we had a pleasant enough time in the area, the apartment was very uncomfortable due to the lack of air conditioning/climate control. Check in time is very late at after 4pm and is published as ending at 8pm which was really annoying as we struggled to get there by that time only to be told that they were open for check-in until 10pm! Checkout time of 10am is far too early and very unfriendly when you have a family to organise. Night times were a sweaty nightmare of exhaustion mixed with dehydration. The apartment was reasonably big and well facilitated but the bed settee's were the most uncomfortable place to sit ever, the apartment had not been well cleaned when we arrived, and we spent the first few hours after arriving cleaning it. The fridge was inefficient and impossibly small, and the kitchen area was far too small for comfort. Due to the newness and recent estate road additions it was not the easiest place to find, and the drive up the mountains to get there was quite scary in a few places, and a much higher climb than we realised it would be (over 2,000ft above sea level!) with very sharp bends and large drops that would definitely intimidate anyone cautious or nervous of heights or open spaces. We found out after getting there that all roads to this place necessitate a steep windy climb no matter what direction you come from, and it is situated high up on a large plateau with little else there apart from a very large and still being developed commercial park. Also it is often very windy there which was not mentioned at any time although it was apparently unusually still/unwindy during our stay. The nearby arifield was often an irritation with a small aeroplane performing aerobatics for hours on end almost every day and the loud droning noise resulting. The restaurant offered a fair-ish choice of very well presented food but portion size was ridiculously small for the main course of sea bream we all opted for on one occassion; probably less than 2oz! Other options seemed to be too small as well and far too highly priced, although the moules frites main course offered excellent value for money for such a large portion of moules. There are no other restaurants for miles around so be prepared to drive off the plateau in search of good affordable eating. The resort is reasonably close to the south coast which was less than a 30 minute drive away, with the nearby town of Le Beausett (5 miles) offering a few reasonable restaurants and supermarkets offering adequate provisions (Casino and Carrefour Market) but a little more pricey than we were used to in France. We wont come back here but we still had some memorable moments, and the views are amazing!

NB: Poor location and no air conditioning

Overall we did not enjoy our stay here as much as was hoped. This residence has a later than usual check in time of 5pm and an earlier than usual check out time of 10am so beware of that when booking. The biggest downsides relate to location and air conditioning (as in there is none, so if staying someway cool during the hot summer nights is a priority, I would avoid). With regard to location, the residence is smack bang in the middle of an inustrial estate and not all that well signposted.

    Big Place

Hotel with a accommodations for families of any size, with apartments and houses. The accommodations are big with outdated furniture and no decorations. It is located in an industrial park, mainly with activities related to motorsports due to the nearby Circuit Paul ricard. From dish washer to coffee machines, there is everything in the accommodations .

    Lugar perdido

Good nights sleep, if you can find it

Arrived in the dark and despite the sat nav taking me round and round the trading estate in which this hotel resides, 4 attempts to find it. Phoned the hotel they answerphone responded they were closed!!! Finally after phoning a friend who had stayed there , I eventually found it. Please buy a light so you can actually see the sign which resembles an advert!!! Mind the very large potholes too. The room was small very basic but was clean and bright. The bed was good and the duvet very snug. Bathroom very small and old fashioned but everything worked and the lighting in the bathroom was good. It is 7 minutes to Paul Ricard so perfect for anyone working at the circuit like me. Breakfast for me fruit salad , yoghurt and very nice croissants. I didnt eat at the restaurant in the evening or use the pool etc but the staff were very nice and helpful.
