  Exceptionally helpful and friendly staff

  A nice hotel which was made into a great experience by the exceptional welcome, friendliness and help from all members of staff. Comfortable rooms and an excellent, good value, dinner plus goor breakfast.

  Lovely place to stay

  We loved this place. We stayed for 3 nights during the heatwave in June. It is a 5 minute stroll from the town centre but quietly located with its' own pretty garden. Our room was large, pretty and well appointed. The bathroom was fine and the air conditioning worked perfectly. The manager, Martine and her staff were very helpful and friendly. The "boiled egg machine" at breakfast was interesting - it actually steamed the eggs but worked well. We didn't eat dinner because the hot weather affected our appetites and we felt we wouldn't do it justice.

  Charming hotel

  We are 2 Australian couples holidaying in France ..We stayed here last night , unfortunately just the one night . A charming , gracious old building with beautifully furnished rooms ...breakfast salon , lounge , and bar overlooking the back garden . Being Sunday night the restaurant was shut but the hotel staff booked us in to a nearby very elegant ( but not too expensive ) restaurant called La Cuisine de Hervé ( delicious vegetarian options !) . When we had trouble this morning with transport to Briare the friendly manager was very helpful . She rang various hire car firms and then drove 2 of our group to pick up the hire car . Would love to come back and stay longer

  Great evening

  I have to say we had an absolutely lovely evening here. The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. The food was delicious and the portions were perfect allowing us to enjoy every course of the gourmet menu. The dining room was modern but in keeping with the building. There was a buzz of conversation which meant, that as we were speaking English together, we did not stand out. I would recommend the restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious meal in good surroundings with friendly staff (who speak English) It was certainly reasonably priced for what it offers.

  Charming old hotel with traditional food

  Clean, old-fashioned rooms with charm, modern decorations in the hallways, modern looking restaurant with traditional rich/heavy food. Excellent food though - just need to be ready for a long sleep afterwards and best to not be vegetarian ... Our room had a lovely balcony overlooking the back park of the property. Elegant bar for drinks before dinner an additional benefit.
