  Night stay in Sedan

  Very unusual hotel. first time I have stayed in a castle. the rooms were compact but very well appointed. The staff were very helpful and stored my bike in a safe place within the hotel Easy walk to town centre. local food and restaurants good. Not the easiest place to find the entrance of but once discovered well worth it

  Reasonable value and an interesting location inside the fort..

  It wasn't the easiest place to find - it could be better signposted. The room was good, the restaurant is excellent and there are no other restaurants within a reasonable walking distance. However the price for 2 large glasses of beer was outrageous - captive customers ???

  Lovely building

  We loved staying here in the summer. It was our last stop as part of a mini road trip and didnt really know what to expect. It made a welcome change to be able to park for free right outside our accommodation. The building was very impressive upon arrival and the staff were welcoming. The room was spacious, the bed was huge and incredibly comfortable, and the bathroom had a powerful shower and separate toilet. We had lunch in the bar downstairs, which was very nice, and sat outside with a drink several evenings when we got back. It was a very peaceful atmosphere in the hotel. We also visited the rest of the fort, which we found very interesting and was a nice way to spend an afternoon in Sedan. With regard to Sedan itself though, we struggled to find much to do. Everywhere seemed to be closed or boarded up (this surprised us as August is usually peak tourist season) aside from the main square where there were a couple of cafes and a market. We actually spent a lot of time in the nearby Charleville-Mézières and were thankful we had our car to get us there for dinner in the evenings.

  Hotel stay and food > excellent. Taking payment twice and not refunding it > appalling

  A romantic anniversary night away. Beautiful room. Clean and cozy. Lovely. Dinner good. Wines good and reasonably priced. What's been appalling is that we paid using one credit card and the hotel blocked the room cost and additionally took the same amount again on another of our cards. I called 5 times the week after and was assured the Manager was out each time I called. Then I managed it across as a Complaint to the local Tourist Office who are trying to get it resolved for us. I sent screen shots of all the hotel had taken form our credit cards. Still they have not resolved it. It's really disappointing as we had a special memory of staying there some years ago, just after our first child was born. I suggest going forward anyone staying there used a service to book e.g. booking.com as you can trust them not to steal the price of a night's accommodation. The hotel Manager has really disappointed us and let us down. Shame on you. Give me back the money you took without permission from my other credit card !!!!!!!!

  Great relaxing getaway in an ancient fortress

  The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was not huge but big enough to be comfortable and cozy. All necessities were available, the bathroom was clean and nice. The location of the hotel inside the old fortress is special and creates a relaxing feeling when walking around. Walking to the city centre was not far either. The breakfast was nice en plenty. Also had dinner one evening in the restaurant: again very nice, good tasty food, price/qualtity ratio was acceptable. I definitely recommend.
