Great locationGreat location straight across from the train station. Great place to stay if planning to do Somme battlefield tour as tour starts right out the front. Room & bathroom were huge by European standards. I requested a shower which was good but without a shower screen or curtain the bathroom became drenched. Staff were friendly & helpful. Amiens seems to close down on Sundays & a lot of bars & restaurants are closed.

Journey break - French railstrikeBooked in, friendly English speaking staff, recommended some restaurants. We visited The Quai (check spelling!!) - it was v. good! Arrived back, reasonably early, so early night. Unfortunately the paper thin walls didn't shield us from the continued verbals at various high pitches from the next and other rooms; the comings and goings with slammed doors and footfall in the corridors that continued until 3.00 am. Not to mention the regular high pitched whistle that sounded in the room from the smoke/fire alarm. Also no tea or coffee in the room. If I could give this place a minus score, I would!

So so Disappointed about that 3 stars french hotelWe arrived before 23h and the receptionniste said that she tried to take the money from my account for the stay. Fortunately as i had withdrew dome cash to pay, she said she could not take the amount for the booking. Then i booked for a big bed for my husband and i,and as we stepped in the bedroom, after a long drive, i was surprised to find a 2 little bed in the room. I had to go back to the reception and explain the lady that there must have been a mistake about the bed. She was embarassed because it took her quite a long time to find us a room with the correct bed. She first suggested to gather the 2 little beds together, but i couldnt accept that as i insisted on my booking for a big bed. She looked pissed off and it was not pleasant for my husband and i to wait that much to get a correct room as we arrived late. Then she finally arranged a room for us. When we arrived in the new room, we found a dirty sheet of bed laying down the floor, and we had only one bottle of water, and no toilet paper... How disappointed we were of getting there so late, meeting a non pleasant receptionnist and being in a room fast made with no care... We were so happy to go in that hotel for our lover week end... but after all, we dealed as good as possibke despite that bad welcoming. That was really sad for us because we didnt expect such a bad dwelcoming in a 3 stars hotel in france. When we left on sunday morning, there was none at the reception, so we rzng twice for the lady to come but she didnt. In the evening, she sent a mail to me to say that we left without paying for a coffee and as a result she announced to me that she took the money from my bank account. Well...we had a wonderfull week end bit it is really not thanks to the receptionnist of that hotel in which we will never come back.
