  Had to move on

  We chose le Bon Duc because it was located where we needed to be, there was little other choice, and it seemed to be making a good name as a restaurant. The room however was tiny, as was the bed, so we didn't sleep comfortably. The restaurant was shut on the night we were there and although arrangements were made for dinner to be prepared for us, it was a grim experience. Might have been better if the restaurant had been open, but still would have been a bad night's sleep.

  Location, location, location

  We specifically asked for a room where we could open the window to let fresh air in. Imagine our shock after checking in to discover our only window faced a bar where people smoked and the smoke was so heavy our room was filled instantly. The hallway had fresh air, so we opened our door to try and clear the air. That was futile so we left the premises for awhile to await the dinner hour, because the terrace was tacky [see photos of the buildings surrounding the terrace]. Upon returning, the hallway was also filled with smoke and the noise from the highway reached our room in the back of the hotel. We cancelled dinner and breakfast reservations and told the young staffer the reasons why. The "Bon Duc" has seen better days in many respects and as they say in baseball, "When someone throws a curve at you, DUCK!"

  Really friendly clean accommodation

  We stayed at this hotel for two nights and were pleased with the accommodation . We were rather doubtful after reading the reviews but our worries were unfounded. The rooms were quite compact but very clean ,with a good shower in the en suite . It was all perfectly adequate for our needs. The dinner in the restaurant was delicious with a very good choice on the fixed price menus. We were served extremely well by the staff and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was lovely with fresh fruit , croissants ,ham , cheese ,eggs and yogurt . All in all we really enjoyed our stay in this very reasonably priced hotel and would definitely stay again if we were in the area .

  Great hotel with great food.

  At arrival we took a 2 personed chamber and it was small but clean enough. The bathroom had a good shower and the toilet was clean. There was also an airconditioning. We also choose to have dinner on the terrace where we had good food for a decent price.

  Hotel-Restaurant

  A strange place that seems to be trying to be one thing (higher end), but the decor and finishes let the food quality down. Reminds me of something from the 1970's. Staff are relatively friendly, but...
