Good for large groupsWere here as part of an organised tour and the hotel has a pretty, lakeside location, with a ferry stop at the end of the garden. If boats arrive full, another ferry will be called. However, apart from the lakeside walk to Pettenasco which has a large supermarket and a few small bars, you will need a car to visit the surrounding areas as it is unsafe to walk along the main road. Our room was spacious with a large, comfy bed, good balcony, fridge, British t.v. and a kettle. Tea and coffee isn't supplied in the room (why?) but sachets can be collected, together with fresh milk from the bar. The shower room is OK with a selection of toiletries. The A/C is very noisy and the glass doors aren't easy to manoeuvre. There is a large swimming pool, a rickety table tennis table, a tennis (?) court and a small gloomy lounge. We were part of a group of 38 so breakfast and dinner were on tables of 10, there was also a large Titan group of 45 who were also on large tables. Breakfast was OK but the cold meats and cheeses were the same every day (ham or salami and brie). Surely it's not difficult to change the types of meat. Eggs were always scrambled or cold, runny boiled eggs. As both large groups tended to eat at the same time items quickly ran out but when asked the staff did replenish them. The bar/restaurant is pretty with some lovely outside tables but the bar is too small for large groups. Every evening there were long queues before dinner with only one bar person. Both large groups had to select their evening meals at breakfast with 2 choices for each of the three courses. As it was mass catering, service was slow and food often cold. Special dietary meals were provided but service was a bit chaotic. This wasn't a cheap holiday but we felt like second class citizens, not 4-Star. Independent travellers were treated differently but do individuals really want to eat in a restaurant surrounded by large, noisy groups of people? There is a small private restaurant but even when paying a la carte for a meal none of us were put in that restaurant. Wifi was hit and miss. OK hotel for a stopover with a car or if you like large groups.

Comfortable, modern lakeside hotelThis relatively modern hotel is well located on the shore of Lake Orta. Our room was on the lower ground floor which opened out to a sizeable terrace facing the lake. The room was larger than average for this class of hotel; it was spacious, furnished in a simple modern style, equipped with a fridge, the double bed was large with spotless linen. We were staying with a group which sometime means that meals are restricted but we found that dinner and breakfast offered a good variety. One evening there was an enjoyable meal of Piedmont specialities. Bar and restaurant service was efficient; staff were friendly and helpful. The lakeside grounds are spacious with a welcome swimming pool. Altogether a comfortable and welcoming hotel which wed happily stay in again.

ComfortableThe hotel was very clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and very helpful. My room was a good size with lovely toiletries, a bottle of water and little sweeties. I paid extra for a lake view, which we well worth it, especially as my balcony got the sun in the afternoon and early evening. Tea, coffee and milk was available for use in bedrooms which had kettle and cups. My stay was with a group of around 27 Titan travellers. Breakfast was largely continental, but more than adequate with plenty of choice. The group's menu for dinner was quite limited, but there was delicious fish every night and all the food was fresh and well cooked. The surrounding area was beautiful. Orta town could be reached by boat or taxi and there were pleasant walks around the lake. The only downside was the fact there was nowhere to walk to in the evening after dinner. All in all a lovely hotel!

Good Hotel but not 4 stars, should be 3The hotel is quite nice, although its an old building with not much renovation inside. Our room was quite nice with a comfortable bed. The bad side was the view, facing the internal yard and the street. Not very nice for a 4 star as there was no privacy, and people could see us inside the room. The staff is okay, not exceptionally friendly but overall nice. The swimming pool I think its the best part, well kept and clean. The inconvenience is the mandatory swimming cup to wear once you are in the water, come on...on a holiday in 2020 who uses that? that should be removed. The Breakfast is nice, but not many choices available, simple and basic I would say. I recommend this hotel , but make sure to take a room with lake view.

I cannot recommend this Hotelvery unloving ambiance. The staff is not very friendly (except for the reception). The room was very small, and I have never seen a smaller TV in a hotel room, see picture. In the corridors the paint is peeling off the walls. The breakfast is also under average. When asked if I could have an egg, the answer was: "the kitchen is still closed". Do not go to this hotel.
