The kids loved itWe recently got back from Lapland staying at the snow princess. We travelled with TUI. Two adults two children and an infant. The rooms are basic and very crammed especially with a travel cot in there. It made putting those massive suits on very difficult (Even though the suits were lovely and warm and an absolute lifesaver for me as I am always cold). The private sauna was a lovely touch tho when you got in from the cold. The plane food was better than the hotel food. You was constantly waiting for them to fill the food up as they only brought out a bit of each at a time. The reps were all very lovely but I had a feeling they didnt no what they were doing most of the time. We did the husky trip and it was amazing but extremely pricey for what it was. We got about 10 mins with the huskies. I visited Lapland about 4 years ago and stayed elsewhere and compared to that I felt quite disappointed with this stay. The kids absolutely loved it so I suppose thats what matters in the long run.

Fantastic tripWe had a wonderful time. The hotel is simple and comfortable in Finnish style. It's not luxurious but warm, with lovely staff. We went with Tui and the reps were hard working and helpful. The food is hearty and tasty. If you are expecting British food, you won't get it. Good soups, bread, pasta, fish and meat balls for example. Basic option for fussy eaters. Breakfast is eggs, bacon etc or more Scandanvian style. The hotal is in a small rural town, wonderfully quiet and full of people sledging, skiing etc. There are no fast food out lets etc which is exactly why we chose it. The excursions are expensive, but worth it. We did both the husky and reindeer safaris and loved them. Even expecting the very short days it was very dark, but you just get on with things and racing through the dark forest on a husky sledge was fun and spooky. The trio to the Snow Village was awesome, lots of fun and it was great to see the ice hotel. Although it was not very cold while we were there it can be so you need to to be prepared with lots of thermal layers and gloves hats etc. We took our ski gear too which was useful though the clothing provided was very good. Our daughter was 10 and embraced it all, I think its not so good for really little kids who can't appreciate the experience completely. The one thing that spoiled things a bit were some of the families who whined and whinged constantly. Mainly about the food. I'm not overly sympathetic to people who only want British food and wont try new things - this is a different country and they eat more seasonally and import less, and they have different food traditions. Its still good. But if you are expecting turkey and trimmings/sausage and mash you will be disappointed. We delayed our Christmas dinner until we got home and enjoyed what was on offer. If you want a British christmas experience you're better off going to your local shopping centre or Lapland UK.The point is you are going to a real country, which is different and amazing and very beautiful. The people are laid back and calm. We also didn't need to hear other people's video calls to their families for the entire coach journey, or excessive swearing in front of children etc. That said, the overall experience was really good. And I feel sorry for the people who were not able to be open minded to enjoy something really special or be more considerate of the other guests and the reps, all of which were missing out on Christmas at home.

Magical Christmas Holiday of a lifetimeGreat hotel In general. Main communal areas lovely however rooms very basic but clean & fine for what we needed. Stayed 3 nights here & the room was lovely & toasty. No room service at all throughout the stay. Perfect location for sledging and short walk into the little village where there is a large supermarket. A stash of sledges right outside the reception door - brilliant fun for our little boy age 7 (& us!) Food not great & quite cool, staff all friendly however. In general all of Finland is expensive so be prepared. Also be prepared for the bizarreness of the limited daylight hours - very weird. The suits provided are absolutely completely necessary. Perfect for the extreme (-27 for us) temperature & kept us lovely and warm but be prepared to hoof yourself in & out of them - raised many a laugh in our room. All in all, a basic hotel, as I read the majority are in this area, however suited our requirements as hardly in there & we only have absolutely amazing phenomenal memories of a magical trip to Lapland to see Santa & experience his true real home... Everlasting authentic memories!

Cosy & QuietStayed as part of TUI trip for 4 nights. Family room has very steep wooden stairs to upper level. There is a gate at the top but I was still wary when my 9 & 5 year old were going up/down. Bathroom is a wet room so floor can become dangerous. Sauna only fits 2 in. No english speaking TV channels but we could put a memorey stick for films. Food was good, basic but suitable for everyone. Water/tea/coffee avaiable at every meal. Helpful friendly staff. Small gift shop that was quiet cheap compared to the price of drinks (which are very expensive). Big area outside for plAying in the snow. Short walk to the village centre/supermarket. My only critiscm is the lack of room service.

AMAZINGThis was by far the BEST holiday we have ever had. From the flight in to the very last second it was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble and the Tui Elfs are fantastic.... special mention to pepper spice our kids personal fave!!! The hotel isnt modern but i think this added to the charm of lapland, felt very santa'ry (you wouldnt catch santa in a premier in) we loved the food, service and the room. It was everything and more....... already looking at going back again this year and wouldn't even think twice about staying at the same hotel again... home away from home... simply PERFECT
