  Lapa Lighthouse review

  Have been staying there for business purposes. Have always experienced a very good service and a warm welcome. Rooms fit for purpose and functional as would be expected for business travel. Bathrooms and kitchenette facilites of a good standard and well stocked. Really, no complaints. Well done guys, Keep it up.

  Enjoyable stay

  We stayed at Lapa Lighthouse for 1 night. Cannot complain about 1 thing. Arrived unexpectedly but We were treated friendly and professionally. Room was comfortable, clean and had all the basics for self catering? Enjoyable stay! Close to Gateway and Umhlanga

  Lapa Lighthouse Guest House Umhlanga and Daddies Deals false advertising

  This establishment is utterly appalling. They have absolutely no ethical behaviour nor do they care about the people that are staying there. I had requested availability for the 31st of March to the 2nd of April from their reservation department and i told them that i wanted to purchase a Daddy's Deals South Africa for those dates, i was told that there was availability. I made the purchase and sent through the voucher only to be told that the voucher is not applicable over those dates. When i questioned why it was not applicable and expressed my dissatisfaction at the fact that i inquired before making the purchase i was simply told that the deal was not even on daddies deal. To which i sent screenshots and a link that states there is no block out dates on daddies deal. I later went onto contacting manager Lana, who was the most braisen, rude and abrupt woman i have ever encounted. She basically told me that it was daddies deals fault and that she cannot accommodate me despite the fact that they have confirmed availability and that i must request a refund from daddies deal. After hanging up, a loved one tried contacting her to which she cut the call on him and told him that she is busy. I then receive a email stating that my booking will be confirmed, and a secondary email confirming my booking. They also added that they will rectify the nitty gritty on their daddies deal as well and that they apologise for the inconvenience caused. I mailed them back asking for a reservation number to which i was told that my reservation has been cancelled and the reason: cancel as per owner. i inquired about the cancellation to which my calls and emails were ignored and then i see the nitty gritty on the daddies deal changed to include the block out dates of long weekends. I have never in my life experienced such deceit and falsifying of information and advertising from an establishment and they should be held accountable for their actions.

  Misleading

  Disappointed lights turned off Aircondition didnt work halfway , very rude breakfast terrible, chased by their dogs , constant disturbances I would not recommend this to my w friends sad Pictures on their website very misleading, Didnt get value for the high priced , owner took off on vacations,property and dirty very poor management

  Low cleanliness rating

  We stayed at Lapa Lighthouse B&B for just 1 night on Christmas. We received a warm welcome when we arrived, was shown to our room, and allocated a parking right next to the room. The room was a good size. We honestly did not pay much attention to the facilities and amenities since we were really just there for an overnight stay. That night though was marred with a dog (not sure if it was a resident dog or a guest's dog) barking from the time we opened the property gate, following the car to the parking, and following us to our room, and still going on to bark for over an hour after that, which we could hear while trying to sleep. Ultimately what has the biggest influence on my rating, was the cleanliness, or lack thereof, of the bathroom. While it was a very spacious bathroom, the floor tiles were very dirty. Whether is was grime or permanent stains, I dared not check. The walls though, I did check, and the grime on the grouting was definitely something that should be able to be removed with a decent clean. If it was even cleaned after the last guest, it wasn't a very good job.
