Small room with small shower featuring severe noise pollution with an old spring mattress. Before I write this review I do want to acknowledge that certain budget travelers would sacrifice many basic features for the sake of 100 baht (3$). I'm not one of those people. I came with my wife and was immediately put in place for my horrible choice. However we somehow got through our one night stay. Needless to say I would be too shy to even bring a prostitute back to that horrible room. However our neighbors did and we woke up several times to the extremely loud spring mattress squealing and schreeching. The blankets and sheets were just as scary as the spring mattress and the room was about 40 sq. feet? Well if your reading this keep looking elsewhere, I only booked because somehow this place scored 7.8 at agoda.com. Like other reviewers mentioned the soi dogs are very loud around 10 - 11 pm but I will disagree about the friendly service. It seems anytime I asked about extra services like taxi or moterboke remtal the price was decent. Then like clockwork those prices when about to book skyrocketed. Although the location is close to the nightmarket and loy kroh nightlife, It is more for moterbikes. Walking is about 15 min. to either locatipn and most likely scary at night due to all the soi dogs. In summary I could see this guesthouse being a good budget place for extremely cheap foreigners, but at 600-700 baht it is a bad value and Thai tourists can find much better accomadation elsewhere.

A TYPICAL"HOME AWAY FROM HOME" PLACE !As I was staying in Hang-Dong area which is about 30 km. from Chiangmai City, for almost two years now I was ready for a change ! I went around Loi Kroh road to search for a decent and affordable place to stay for my last month here and I checked out many places. While visiting Loi Kroh temple my eyes caught the sign of "Lanna Lodge" and I walked in for some information. I was greeted very friendly by the owner who introduced herself as Jeep( nice cute car name for a little lady:). Her staff showed me around and I fell for the location and mountainview rooms. Checked in the same week and still here because the complete staff is so nice and helpfull especially the owner couple. One day I had an ATM problem and they helped me out without any problem giving me a 1000 bht. The rooms are small but convenient ,the airconditioning is perfect ,TV channels of any choice ! Can't say anything bad ...will surely book my next longstay again here !

Not too ImpressedWhen we come to Chiang Mai, we usually stay st The Royal Princess Hotel, this time we would try another accommodation, were we ever surprised, this Lodge is very very basic, room, bathroom, free WiFi and CLEAN ...THE BED......well, I think sleeping or laying on my dogs bed would have been more comfortable, way too hard, not firm.....HARD, no soft padding, just sheets on the spring. .......never again....that's all I can really say about this place, staff, when u saw them, was nice and friendly, eating there was an option you don't really want to take, they only serve breakfast, and only a set menu. Honestly, I don't recommend staying here....it is closer to all the action, where you can walk, but I think with the tourists trying to cope with the weather, walking should only be for night times. There are more low budget hotels around, but make sure you check them out first, in person if possible, or ask......and this post is only in my opinion.

Very Basic, Very Inexpensive, Good Breakfast. Friendly Staff.Sixty three year old backpacker. Stayed at the Lanna Lodge Hotel in Chiang Mai in 2013. (I'll keep carrying a max carry on size backpack as long as I have my strength.) I had to put down that I traveled in April 2014. That is as far back as this review page would let me go. But it was mid February to mid March 2013 that I stayed there. Stayed here for one month in 2013. Very basic accommodations, but clean and friendly staff. Nice little breakfast area downstairs. Nothing fancy. But if you are travelling on a budget, and willing to do without four or five star luxury hotels, then you will like the Lanna Lodge Hotel. Close to a couple of small Buddhist temples and Loi Kroh Road. Short walking distance to both the Night Bazaar and Tha Phae Gate and the Sunday Walking Street market. They will do laundry for you for a very small fee. Everything is very inexpensive here.. Yes, the mattresses are very firm, and on southeast Asian style platform beds, which is not unusual in southeast Asia. I got used to them over time, and now I miss the very firm mattresses. Some people who have been spoiled with luxury and the modern European and North American lifestyle might not like it. Perhaps they should stay at the Royal Princess Hotel or another luxury hotel.

Charming and caring place to stayRight in the heart of the city, but down a quiet street. Nice clean comfortable rooms, very obliging management and staff, they just can't do enough to ensure that you're happy. Nice breakfast and snacks and enjoyable place to have a relaxing beer. Very short walk to night market and huge selection of bars and restaurants. I shall return soon.
