Great value for moneyStayed at the Langley Resort Almyrida Bay for 2 weeks in August 2018 with my girlfriend. We got a pretty good deal on the price, so we werent expecting too much from the hotel, but we were pleasantly surprised. Good points: - Almyrida is a lovely bay and village with plenty of places to eat and good access to the west of Crete - The village is about 10mins walk from the hotel. Other reviews state it is an uphill walk back to the hotel, but only mildly uphill, if youre relatively fit and healthy, its not a problem - The swimming pool is clean, lovely and large - Other occupants of the hotel are mainly Scandinavian who are polite and respectful. Even their kids are well behaved. - The staff, especially the lady on reception, were very friendly and were always happy to help - The room was a nice simple double, with a shower, fridge, balcony and a nice view to boot (see pictures) On the whole, a very pleasant stay, at a not-expensive hotel, no frills, no problems. I would have given this review 5 stars if it were not for a couple of minor annoyances that we found a little strange: - Firstly, whilst the rooms were generally clean, and whilst the maid services the room on a daily basis, the rooms werent cleaned, the sheets were tidied and straightened etc, but the floors and surfaces werent cleaned. Not sure why, but this little touch wouldve gone a long way to earning that extra star - secondly, and similar to the previous point - towels werent changed on a daily basis. We asked for a fresh set after a few days, which the hotel were happy to oblige. Again, not sure why this isnt part of the basic service. - thirdly, the sheets on the bed are a bit strange. In our room, the sheets didnt quite fit the bed, and we had two separate duvets instead of one. Again, a simple thing that we couldnt understand. It didnt particularly bother use, but its a simple fix that the hotel could make the really make the difference. In summary, I would stay here again, and would recommend it to others who are looking for a no frills, chilled hotel in a great resort.

Nice hotelIt's a nice hotel with the swimming pool and a tennis court. Rooms are relatively clean. The location is OK but you have to walk up hill from the center. It can be exhausting in that sun. I am not sure if it's worth for the price. Breakfast was 10 Euro per person and the dinner 15 euros per person. It was an OK accommodation. Also Almyrida full of tourists. And not much to do there. We were there only for diving classes.

Estacionamiento amplio. Un lugar adecuado.

Lovely stay, both as family, couple or alone!Been at this resort several times, once together with my fiancé, once with the whole family (teenagers). This latest visit I stayed by myself for a week of yoga booked through the hotel. Regardless of constellation, this is an excellent hotel to stay for your vacation. This was the first time staying in Almirida this early in the season (beginning of May). Quite calm at the hotel, not so many guests as in June and July (my previous trips) of course. I would start the day with yoga and/or a morning walk among the beautiful surroundings, greeted by goats, horses, dogs and cats. :) After that a nice breakfast at the hotel; they have an ok breakfast buffet with the usual stuff like yoghurt, cereals, bread, fruits, vegetables, bacon, scrambled eggs. Hanging by the pool during the day and then having a nice lunch at the hotel. Love their greek salad - SO tasty. I also recommend their chicken gyros with tzatziki. You have access to wifi at the poolarea (and in the hotel main building) which I think works well. No wifi in the rooms. Workout sessions with staff most mornings for those who want to stay active. :) Unfortunately the fridge in my room was missing. They offered me to change room following day but I wanted the view so I stayed. But even though it's early season and they hadn't yet "gotten everything in place" as they answered me, it's just bad. You should get exactly what you book and pay for. I also would wish they had a little more to choose from in the breakfast buffet, more healthy options than cereals, breads and bacon. Like perhaps smoothies, more different vegetables (they served either hot tomatoes or hot zucchini, which was good but they could have more). The staff was new (seasonal staff) which was quite clear. It probably takes a few weeks to know the menu better, find ingredients (I ordered a smoothie in the pool-bar for lunch one day and no one seemed to know where to find different ingredients, so it took a while). But they were nice and wanted to give good service. Could be good to have at least one more experienced staff member in place in the beginning few weeks, perhaps. :) But I truly recommend this resort and a trip to Almirida. It's a cosy place with great restaurants by the ocean, beautiful surroundings which are great for hiking and the resort has daily trips for those who want to explore the island even more.

Very average but expensiveErrmm, ok so first of all the pool is fantastic, clean, deep and big. They try and rip you off at the pool bar though. If you order a large beer, they only have small beer cups in plastic, so they will give you a small and charge you for a large. So if you are ordering for pool side make sure you ask for a small because that is all you'll be getting. One girl in particular will charge you for a large even though its a small unless you say something to her. 8/9 euros for a gin and fanta lemon and thats even with one can over two drinks, this hotel is not nice enough to charge that kind of price. Breakfast is terrible. We booked a 'superior' room for 3, when we got there they said it was booked for only 2 people, we checked and we booked for 3, instead of getting a different room we just got another bed put in the room. So a superior room for 3 is literally 1 room, 3 beds and a bathroom and they are NOTHING like the pictures on the internet, again bit of a rip off for what we were given. We had no toilet roll either, no glasses to drink from, very very basic, without the basic price tag. Other than that it is a great location and it does the job. Nothing bad to say about the staff, in particular the receptionist and lifeguard are really fab.
