  Estupendo

  Es un castillo pequeno, pero genuino. La historia del lugar es fantastica. Es importante indicar que se quiere quedar en el castillo, pues hay unas habitaciones en unas casitas fuera de el y la experiencia no es tan "royal". Excelente para una boda, la atencion estupenda. Estan pendientes de todos los detalles

  Fantástico alojamiento.

  Pasamos una noche camino del distrito de los lagos. Preciosa edificación, muy buen servicio, orden y limpieza excelentes. La cena y el desayuno de muy buena calidad. Nuestro viaje era de 2 parejas , y recomendamos nuestra propia experiencia a otras. Siempre que podamos volveremos a alojarnos en Langley Castle Hotel. Rosario y Javier/ Frigiliana (Málaga / España)

  Anniversary Treat

  Stayed for three nights two in Delucy Room one in Castle View . With wife in wheelchair sometimes this was going to be a challenge but service lift and her sometimes managing the stairs we coped .Room & Castle magnificent staff all very helpful , restaurant food delicious all in all it was a very happy stay . It was our 30th Anniversary and with this difficult year it was nice to manage a small trip away .Wife cried when we pulled up the driveway it certainly is a hidden away gem .

  An almost Disneyesque castle (far from original but a great example of OTT renovation).Castle View rooms are in a carefully converted set of out-buildings, about 100m from the main Castle. On the plus side they certainly have a Castle view, however, in the wet it is a bid of a soggy plod up the drive for meals! Staff were without exception courteous and friendly. The restaurant tries hard and is, on the whole very good. The wine list is short but reasonable value. Breakfast was a typical fry-up and a bit dry the boiled eggs looked a better bet. The only serious criticism would be the well hidden discretionary service charge, added to dinner and to drinks. Leaves a poor final impression. A pity as this hotel has so much to recommend it.

  BEWARE BOOKING THROUGH SECRET ESCAPES

  Booked and paid for a superior room as a birthday treat for my partner via Secret Escapes. Subsequently contacted by the hotel to say that, although (still) showing as available they were actually fully booked. Secret Escapes had already taken our money and refused to refund as we had cancelled at too short notice (despite this being within 24 hours of booking and the hotel cancelling US). Contacted hotel again and agreed an alternative date ....disappointing but as they had our money and wouldnt refund we had little option. Having stayed before we expected the same magical experience as previous. Sadly not. When arriving for pre dinner drinks the table had dirty used glasses. When we were shown to dinner we were taken through the lovely candlelit restaurant past numerous empty clean tables , out through a corridor to a freezing cold, brightly lit, very modern room with absolutely zero atmosphere. It was so cold a portable heater had been set up near our table and we huddled around it . The followig morning we received our bill via email witha descretionary additional service charge added. By now we were pretty fed up, challenged the charge and complained about our cold lacklustre surroundings for our evening meal. Amazingly when we came down for breakfast we were shown to the same cold room and the same cold table. After complaining (again) we were ushered into reception whilst a table was prepared in the main restauarant . Once seated we counted that less than 50 % of the available clean empty tables were in use. We were told that we had been put in the other room due to social distancing and that tables were deliberately left empty to enable this to happen. Considering we had to book a time for our table we think the restaurant service could have been better managed. Maybe CLEAN the tables in between customers? All had linen tablecloths that could have been removed and replaced. Considering the same was not applied in the bar area where we had a dirty table we were extremely annoyed and disappointed. Breakfast, which should have been part of the treat was a somewhat rushed affair as by now we just wanted to go home. All in all a terrible visit. Cocked up by Secret Escapes but then made worse by Langley Castle making us feel cold and unwelcome . We were prepared to make concessions due to COVID but this felt that the virus is being used to cut corners and cut back on service . Never again
