Simply but okClose to Frankfurt. After a 10 minute walk you reach the station. There the train brings you in 15 to 20 minutes to the Messe. Breakfast was more than ok.

Well Maintained!Whenever I have to attend a trade show at the Messe, I try to consistently stay in this hotel when they have rooms available. This was since 1992 and the latest was Sept of this year. As a matter of fact, the previous Manager Werner Lotz, who has since retired treated me as a returning friend rather than as a guest. Given it is now under new managers, the property has managed to keep its service quality up to par. The front desk speak excellent English and are friendly and helpful. The rooms and bed are still as I remember them, clean and comfortable. Sheets and pillows are clean. The TV is now flat screen and has cable connection. Internet in the room is okay..neither fast nor that slow. Bathroom is clean, although I think they can upgrade their shower stall and shower head. Breakfast is the same with some ham, cheese, bread, egg and yogurt which is really more than enough to get you going thru the day. One of my surprise was their dinner menu, as my son ordered a pizza for room service and I must say it was really good. Erzhausen is a small town about 10km from Darmstadt, and there is only one train station which is about a 20 minute walk to this property. As such I would say this property would be perfect for those who have their "own means of transportation" , otherwise a lot of walking will be needed. Perhaps it is for this reason that this hotel (and town for that matter ) becomes a good refuge from the hustle and bustle after a day in downtown Frankfurt.

Reasonable overnight before flight outThis hotel was a good and convenient place to stay for a night before our flight back home. It was surely clean and a reasonable price was a nice touch. Beds were too soft for me but for my husband it was OK - I tend to need more support. We were unable to get a pillow to use for hip support as the hotel had none extra and it was booked. We did get an extra blanket that I folded and used instead, so that worked. I definitely appreciate the staff's willingness to help with that. Also their quick response - before we got there - to my request for a quiet room.

No thrill..good valueOur room was large and quiet. Decor and grounds are worn and dated, but staff was friendly, helpful and accommodating. For our purpose of finding a reasonable, convenient accommodation it worked out ok.

No frills accommodations with stellar staffI was looking for an inexpensive place to stay while visiting a prospective client. At the last minute, my partner decided to come along for the drive, which meant also taking our dogs along. We called to find out about their policy for dogs (we have two frisky dachshunds), and received all the info we needed from a friendly young lady. We immediately made the reservation with her, and she had the confirmation in our inbox quite quickly. We knew the house would be a bit "rustikal" in style and architecture, and had no problem with that. Unfortunately, some aspects of the property need immediate attention (filthy carpeting, cracked mirror in the bathroom, broken pull-out sofa, soiled table clothes in the dining area, etc.). Otherwise, the place was kept quite clean and neat, and you could see the staff was trying to make the best of the situation. Though breakfast was very modestly priced compared to other hotels, it was also very modest in variety. The eggs were fresh, though, as were the rolls. Wireless internet access was free - but also pretty slow. I couldn't stream a video- or podcasts, for example, but had no problem sending/receiving mails or surfing. The friendly and helpful staff were the highlight of our stay. Not one grumpy face. Not one request ignored or grudgingly fulfilled. As a matter of fact, when the maid discovered I had inadvertently left my sleepwear on the side of the tub, the desk clerk ran out to the parking lot in the rain to see if he could still catch us before we drove off...
