  Great

  We stayed here 4 nights during a long weekend trip in the Allgäu. This hotel is mainly focused on business/group guests who tend to stay while they have meetings in nearby Kempten city. However, the hotel is nice for couples/leasure as well. Personnel is extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast is excellent with nice brötchen and they prepare eggs for you any way you like. It is slightly pricey but well worth it.

  Not what it used to be....

  This hotel closed down a year or so ago and was sold. It has now been somewhat renovated and has reopened with new owners. It is not the same. Gone is the traditional Bayerische décor, in favor of a modern interpretation of the country scene. Gone is an interesting menu with regular specials, in favor of a generic menu. Prices have gone up considerably, perhaps to reflect the investment in the new décor. Anyway, we were there for lunch on a Wednesday. Place was deserted, prices were very high, food average and service 'professional'. Service also very, very slow. So my advice is to give this place a miss.

  Satisfying Experience

  Nice hotel in a small village run by a young family. Rooms are well equipped, very clean, bathrooms are clean and modern. Very friendly and supportive service. Parking space directly in front of the door. Rooms are to the back and quite. Good value for money proposition.

  The nicest people I have ever met!

  We stayed at the hotel for 9 days during a guided trip in Bavaria and Austria and I have stayed in hotels that were fancier but I have never met nicer people in my life. We had breakfast there every morning and ate most of our evening meals there and Daniel the owner with his wife Franziska prepared some fantastic food for us. The other people that worked there were so friendly and helpful as well. I can't say enough about the hospitality we were shown there. The rooms while not large were very clean and everything worked well. If we are ever back in this area I would stay again and recommend this hotel to anyone.

  Even better than expected

  We booked this hotel as Goldenes Kreuz but now it is known as Maser's and has obviously been modernised. The village is delightful as is the surrounding countryside. We had a good sized room with modern bathroom on the ground floor which was excellent. We couldn't have a meal in the evening as they had an event on which was a shame so we went to the inn next door which was fine. Staff all very friendly and helpful and breakfast was plentiful; all in all a good night's stay.
