  Family Friendly

  We stayed her for a few nights with our twin babies and were delighted to find that we actually had a separate room to put them in! Even a little tiny kitchenette and nice balcony. Much more space than we were expecting. The breakfast is so-so in comparison to some others we had on our trip, but a decent value for sure.

  Treated badly

  We ate here, on the first evening, arriving from England. The staff didn't speak good English and we didn't speak much German, but we played safe with a schnitzel and fries combo, with salad, which was ok, but the salad bar looked bought in , not home-made. The male owner, was the friendly face of the establishment, the waitress was not particularly welcoming. It was the second visit, that saw a big downturn in the service experience; an absolutely horrible and snidey waitress, who could not have been less welcoming or less unprofessional, was doing the orders. She gave me a horribly unfriendly look, as I passed her on entering the restaurant. She then proceeded to give us a hard time, ignoring us for orders and keeping us waiting, until even my very laid back and nice friend, became very offended and annoyed. When the wait for the sweet course, extended to twenty minutes, we decided to demand the bill and leave immediately; this sort of bully, should not be employed in a service industry. She then made the bill paying a hard time, by repeatedly failing to process our card, which never failed us in the rest of the week and then curtly demanded "cash!", which, luckily , we had. We couldn't wait to get out, quite shaken by the experience, I would have complained to the pleasant owner, but as his English was poor and we were the lone English in the place, I felt it just wasn't worth it. DO NOT GO HERE! The food , was average and pretty indigestible, no vegetables, huge lumps of meat. The Italian pizza restaurant, across from this awful place, was such a refreshing contrast, with friendly, willing service and first rate food, at a fair price.

  Traditional (in the good sense)

  We arrived without a reservation and got a nice, cozy and good-sized room. We had a tasty and generous dinner at the hotel restaurant. The staff were very friendly an gave us good advice about the area. Although the facilities are a bit "dated" the hotel has a lot of charm and character with plenty of antiques dotted around.

  Good pub restaurant attached.

  Friendly staff on arrival and adequate room with small balcony.. In the morning, an excellent buffet breakfast. There is also a pub/restaurant attached to the hotel where the food and service were very good. Recommended.

  Traditional experience

  We arrived without booking but were accommodated nonetheless by the extremely friendly staff. The atmosphere was relaxed, the beautiful rustic looking restaurant was cosy and a gentleman was playing a traditional Bavarian sitar, which completed the wonderful experience we had in the restaurant. We ate schnitzel which was good, in particular the potato salad too. The hauskrauter liqueur digestive has a hint of honey and is made at a local farm. We had a great night!
