  An astonishingly good value place to stay, with charming staff

  I stayed here for three nights this month (July 2010) and found the following top-notch: the service, the cleanliness, the pool/sauna facilities, the garden bar (which ran an excellent grill/buffet one night) and the spaciousness of the rooms. The breakfast was generous & tasty and the location pretty. A couple of points to note when booking: Ask for a room at the back, away from the road, as there's a surprising amount of nocturnal goods traffic on this country road. Make sure your room is kept well-ventilated on hot days, as there's no aircon. The wifi (available for a small fee) doesn't stretch to all rooms, so if this is vital for your stay, check with reception first.

  Great for accessibility, clean & friendly

  2hrs drive from Munich among rolling green farmland, orchards, vineyards in a well manicured little village. Stayed here on a last minute trip to an expo in Friedrichshafen when most other accommodation was booked up or extortionately priced, but despite being a late and reasonably priced option it was a lovely place to stay. The room and whole hotel was light, airy and spacious. The hotel seems to have been designed for accessibility with wide corridors & lots of wheelchair turning space in the room & shower room - I think some of the rooms are larger than others to accommodate this so look at the options when booking if required. Staff were friendly, we arrived about midnight but it wasn't a problem. Didn't get chance to use the pool, spa or even have breakfast in the hotel. Memory foam mattresses on the beds were comfy. Nearby Ravensburg had some nice looking cafes & quaint cobbled streets. The hotel is about 40mins by car from Friedrichshafen. The only slight drawback was that there was limited parking directly outside the hotel entrance but there was more parking a short walk away.

  Avoid, avoid, avoid - be warned!

  Looks very nice from the photos, but be warned. Smelly rooms equiped like a hospital. Surly staff, unfriendly and poorly trained in customer service. Then there is the restaurant! Please don't order the fish main course, if you do be prepared to get abuse if you have to send it back to the kitchen. Ours was off, and when the Restaurant Manager heard we had returned it, he tried to persuade us that it was perfectly fresh and completely palatable. When we declined to agree he became loud, argumentative and abusive. He then ordered us to leave the restaurant!!! I won't mention the very poor soup and salads that didn't make it to the party at all. Please don't put yourself through this unpleasent experience, there must be 50 better places to stay close-by. We left the next morning without risking breakfast and got no apology on checking out after we paid for what we had eaten and drunk before the rancid fish. Be warned!

  Decent, clean, and good food

  We're quite happy with the place. The rooms are spacious and the food was nice. It's not a four star, but a very good three star. The pool is a bit small but sufficient for doing a couple of rounds in the morning. Overall we had a good time and would return.

  Clean, efficient, but not exciting

  Good hotel, with very large and very comfrotable rooms. The building is rather new, perfectly clean, but somehow cold and unattractive. It offers a large swimming pool and a small sauna area, very nice and highly enjoyable (much more stylish than the rest of the hotel). Good breakfast, but the choice is not very wide.
