  Beautiful location and immaculate, smoke-free timber house

  There are many places to choose from in this area and we were very pleased to have chosen this lovely Bio-timber house, where you take your shoes off before entering and where no smoking is allowed. As a result, it's fresh and clean like the lovely mountains and pastures just outside the door. Our bedroom was cosy and we had a great view, we really didn't want to close the curtains when we went to sleep and slept with the door open! The house and area is very quiet, despite being on a small road, as all bedrooms face the mountains. There is very little light pollution so for a city-dweller it was great to sleep in almost total darkness. The owner is riendly and knowledgeable, who was happy to provide us with maps and info of the local area. Free mountain bikes were also available. The area is great for trail running, hiking and biking in the summer and skiing in the winter. My only comment is that in light of this house being particularly great for asthmatics and people with allergies the feather duvets and pillows were not the best choice of bedding. We stayed in a reasonably off-peak period and the price was very reasonable. Highly recommended!

  Great place to come back to after a hard day's skiing

  the first time that my wife and I were without any of our children we went on a skiing trip to Schladming picking the Heimat as our resting place. We booked an apartment for 2 on the ground floor and were not disappointed ! - It was ideal and even though we did not plan on cooking - we ate breakfasts at the heimat's guesthouse next door (very tasty!) we did make use of the kitchen several times. Our only misgiving was the "heavy" lounge suite in the "living" area which is a bit cumbersome taking up a little too much room. Ski buses leave every hour (free with ski pass) and it's a 20 minute trip to the gondola (not 10 as we were told by the owner) there's a great little bar just down by the main road and many good restaurants nearby. The family (met the mother and daughter) are very nice and helpful. All in all a good find though would be better if they dropped the price for longer stays!

  Wonderful experience at the Holzhaus Heimat!

  A beautiful wooden house in a gorgeous setting, with all the comforts we needed. It was very close to town but a little outside of it to give a very tranquil feeling a perfect location for us to enjoy the mountain air and views, but still being close to what we needed. The staff was very friendly & helpful, and wanted to make sure we had a good experience. They were also so supportive we came for Special Olympics World Games and we really felt like they were excited for our family. :) It was a good feeling. We had a 2-bedroom apartment plus a double-room, so 3 rooms together for 4 of us. It was all on one floor so we had the feeling of all being together. The beds were comfortable, and the apartment was very tastefully decorated and fun to hang out in together. Plenty of space and privacy but also spaces to hang out together. We really loved it. There were gorgeous views, and we slept well. The kitchen was great too. The house itself, all wood, is really amazing. Our apartment was really wonderful and we were sad to leave!

  Excellent stay for a long weekend

  Lovely traditional timber chalet in Ramsau 15 min drive from both Schladming and Reiteralm ski resorts. Family welcome and extra friendly service. All the essential modern comforts (wifi, heating, ensuite shower, breakfast) at a very reasonable price in high season. Views are absolutely breathtaking and each room has a generous balcony.

  Worth while staying there!

  We, two couples, booked two rooms and got, due to a cancellation, a complete appartment (living room incl. kitchen, two bedrooms an two bathrooms) for the same price. Situated very peacefully in Ramsau and especially when it is snowing it is beautiful. The appartment was very complete and the service is very friendly. If you like wild apres-ski parties you'd better look for somewhere else, however if you want a beautiful situated hotel/appartment for a good price: this is the place to be!
