Ski tripWe booked this just before christmas and as usual for us we did everything independently. We arrived early (11am ish) on a Sunday morning to be informed that 1 of our rooms wasnt available yet, so we were invited to have a coffee at the bar. We hadn't finished this when we were informed that the room was now available and we could take occupancy. The rooms were typical Austrian hotel rooms with lots of wood and glass. The bathroom was a wetroom style with underfloor heating and was well lit and comfortable but not luxurious. The beds were firm and comfortable but as is normal in this part of the world the pillows are lacking in both volume and quantity. The temperature was nice throughout our stay and there were no times i felt uncomfortable. The wellness centre is extensive with 3 saunas of varying temperatures, a steam room and a quiet room. This is a mixed facility and nudity is the norm. If your not comfortable with this then dont go in. The pool is not huge but was a good temperature and was a nice facility to relax in after a day on the slopes. There are 2 ski busses every morning and 2 every evening and they take around 15 minutes each. As the first stop in the morning there are usually plenty of seats but at night it may be long stand on tired legs. we opted to use the garage facility at the bottom of the slope so we had no kit to carry back and forth. This was 9 per week and was well worth it in our opinion. The breakfast is a buffet style and is comprehensive selection including an egg boiler for the locally popular dish. Dinner varied between 6 and 7 courses but was of exceptional standard every time. You get asked your choice of courses with a note on your table at breakfast. Drinks were reasonably priced at 4 a pint. The staff were really helpful and friendly at all times and spoke excellent English. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for above average accommodation in or near Soll.

Mixed feelingsArrival was really confusing. A big entrance marked "Landhaus Ager" leads to not much but a big staircase and some unmarked doors. There was no reception and we were really confused as to where we were supposed to go. The Landhaus is in effect a block of accommodation linked to the nearby hotel by a long underground corridor. The rooms were very very small and the bathroom, whilst very modern and clean was difficult to use. The shower didn't have an enclosure and water went all over the bathroom every time we used it. There was no extractor fan. The beds were super comfy and room was quiet with a great view. We booked dinner and had a lovely table in a little side room close to the bar. The setting was lovely, but the food was not. 2 out of 4 meals were sent back uneaten. No one apologised, they offered to replace them, but no apology. Breakfast was a very extensive buffet which was well presented and plentiful. Check out was a fiasco. There were things on our bill that we hadn't had and things not on the bill that we had ordered. Items that were agreed to be taken off one couples bill were then added onto the other couples bill. Totally inexcusable. Sadly still no apology. We wouldn't stay here again unless we were desperate.

All fur coat and no knickersArrival- wow Check in- erm, where is the reception? Lets explore.... nope still lost. Lots of stairs and corridors. Finally asked the cleaner. Friendly reception girl, eager to please men, clearly! ;0) Room- No complaints except no extra blankets, or pillows. Corridors made the bedrooms feel cold. Beds were very low down however comfortable, maybe the Saltz wine helped, it was very drinkable. Shame about smoking from next door bedroom. Apres Ski offering- If you like kept warm chicken and rice, perfect. If you dont, then you will fit in here because there was a lot of food left over. Bar service- charming and no real clue who has ordered, what they ordered or their room number. Dinner - salad was enjoyable ( picked out the slimy brown leaves) the rest was pleasant. Carpaccio, nice presentation but not really worth their time. Soup, inappropriate flavours, more like an arribiata sauce, however it was ok. Big plate of cheese- very nice! Main was lacking, schnitzel a thin and dry and the potatoes were cold. Dessert- hyped up but didnt deliver. Morning- shower was great, had to decide it was normal that there was water all over the bathroom floor, heading for the bedroom. Ok, after the great shower I had to mop up the water with a towel. Bathroom lighting was ineffective, a no go for applying make-up, light was flat and the angled mirrors made life seem very confusing! Totally pointless, however it did highlight the holes in the ceiling?? Breakfast- had to search for a waitress, she seemed very confused when I asked for coffee/cafe/cappuccino... nothing like a morning smirk from a friendly judgemental waitress. Food was fine, toaster thought it was Michael Jackson and couldnt decide between black or white. Check out- clever receptionist, flirtatious personality with a matching outfit, same as the other girls in the bar area sat with the seemingly single men, the night before. Wifi was OK, so you can FaceTime your loved one and children before you settle down at the bar. Check out total- WTF? Somebody is trying to pull the wool over out eyes here, doubled up wine , inedible food added onto our bill and a receptionist who thinks that if her cleavage is on show enough we wouldnt notice the inflation! Hmmm sorry but bad effort. Our bill was rectified after 10 mins, when she eventually realised we were serious. 60 was deducted, finally we were able to pay for what we had eaten and drank. Hotel was cold in many areas and the toilet for the dinning room and bar was down two flights of stairs. Hard to navigate initially as there are no clear signs. The open fire is broken, replaced by an electric thing ones granny once owned. This place is way off... however if it was managed better, toilets upstairs, staff that could communicate, a new chef,etc.... it could be very nice. Look elsewhere though in our opinion. This hotel has had its day.

Very goodCracking hotel spread over a few linked blocks. Very friendly with good customer services. Smallish room but very modern and spotless. Bathroom clean and stylish. The sauna complex is amongst the best I have used (though Brits and Yanks should be aware its fully nude!) Breakfasts were very good indeed dinners smaller but nice. We'd go back like a shot
