A social hotelThe hotel is lying a little far from the village Rheinau, but the social atmosphere at the hotel was very good. It had a large outdoor space for dining and drinking. Free parking. The host is very charming, spoke english, his wife spoke french too. Usually the host sat at a table close to the bar and made it very familiar. This was also the dining area. It was easy to socialize with other guest. My room was very small, ok for one night. The host offered me a larger room. The dinner was limited to that days offer, but it was very good. The breakfast was very good too. I would probably stay at this hotel on my way south in Europe.

Average but fair valueWe booked last minute on our way back home. We were serviced friendly and despite late arrival at 20:20 we were allowed to order for a meal (kitchen closed at 20:30). The hotel is typical German: good organised, clean and good service. The room was small for 2 adults and one kid and bathroom the same but for one night OK. The dinner was in the garden with basic food. Good quantities but a little too well done meat maybe because of the rush. Breakfast was good with fresh fruit, yogurt, juice and scrambled egg with ham. This location is a bit off road driving Basel - Karlsruhe but is good value for money when one does not expect too much. They have also 2 family rooms, bigger in space, which were not available when we booked.

Cute renovated farm house, with an amazing staff and very good breakfast!( - ) Room soundproofing - A family woke an hour and a half before we were supposed to, and we couldn't get any more sleep because it was like they were inside our room talking and making noise :p ( + ) Amazing staff - We arrived very late (23:15) at Baden-Baden airport, but the owner was still waiting for us. After checking us in and showing us our room he pointed us to some restaurants near by where we could grab something to eat. The next morning we got the chance to meet the other owner and the rest of the staff during breakfast, who were also very kind and thoughtful. Very good breakfast - One of the best and more complete breakfast we have ever had! And always with a smile.

Cozy country hotel with good breakfast and friendly serviceWe stayed here one night during our road trip in Baden and Schwartzwald. Owners are friendly and have sense of humor. Check-in was friendly and we were personally showed to our room. We had on purpose booked the smallest room they had, because we were just passing by. It was really small! This however was communicated very clearly already beforehand, so we knew what to expect. We were also offered bigger room at check-in, but that would have cost 15 extra. The shower and toilet was a "closet model" and not very spacious under the attic room's roof, so if you are any taller than 1,8m, consider booking a standard room instead where you can stand up in the shower. It was literally a closet, only a thin chipboard door with a knob separated the toilet bowl from the bed. Unfortunately the bathroom was smelling a bit and the smell came in the room through the gap above the "door". Pouring water in the drain helped. The restaurant is very charming, with some old country side style decoration. The owner is cooking great meals and you can have an affordable and delicious dinner with beer in the house. Breakfast is also excellent. All you can eat, served to you in the table. Fresh fruit salad, eggs, bread, croissants, coffee, tea, yogurt and apples. We also had fantastic home made cherry pie! Delicious. The owner encourages you to make a lunch pack as well to take with you, so sweet! Free parking, but no free WLAN. Outside many walking routes and possibilites to trips in the area. They have sauna, but we didn't try it out. Recommended if you are looking for some low key country side accommodation with friendly service!
